The Daisy ad... It won the presidency for Johnson.
But Killing JFK was the real stepping stone for LBJ. Getting Hoover on board was necessary to confiscate all the evidence from Dallas and lie, forge and simply loose all the evidence that needed to be altered.
LBJ didn't need to lie, he was surrounded by those who did it for him.
