My long-term observation is taht the people tha tmake the rules never actually expect to be held to those rules. Congress, FAA, the genius that designed the building I work in.... But I digress. FAA and the airlines operate IFR, and wish that we VFR types would just go away. We don’t fit their “controlled skies” model. Too much freedom, you know.

The FAA has actually been arguing against allowing UAS operations. What should concern RC fliers is that the FAA wants to get their nose into their business too.

Yeah, similar to landing fees at Federally funded airports like Hilton Head, SC, Jackson Hole, WY, Vail, CO, etc. The reason is to keep the little guys out.
On a related topic, I wonder if Randy Babbitt will have his pilot's license suspended now that he's been caught DUI? My guess is no. Do as I say, not as I do......
