And people scoffed at it being used to spy on us.

So those of us who live in the boonies and have to drive twenty miles just to get groceries should pay a per mile tax? Bull.

There was an investigation on an accident at a traffic light in N Austin about a year ago. One vehicle had the black box and the investigators were able to determine the driver had accelerated just prior to impact to beat a red light.

In the sixties while traveling in Georgia around Brunswick,if my memory is right, there was and oak tree with a Historic Sign on it that said. 16(?) men were hung on one limb of that tree, at one time.
Can someone in that area confirm this, please?

Why not remove all federal taxes on oil/gas and let the states increase their taxes and move ALL road mantainence over to the states...?

Obammny loves Teddy Rosevelt so much, why not take a page from his book and “trust Bust” the US Federal Government?

"No offense, but comments like this sound a lot like the delusional expectations of condominium owners..."

Sorry if that's the way it came across. I've never owned a home, let alone a condo, and at 64, I don't need one. I simply wrote the first thing that came to mind about NY State roads and their proposed national mile tax.

"The only way to do this involves invading your privacy - Fourth Amendment infringement."

Thank God we have people in Washington right now who respect and uphold the Constitution.

Don't you all agree eh?

The pressure for us to drive Priuses and Volts has severely impacted the per mile value of the gasoline tax. If people went back to driving Town Cars and Suburbans, the problem would be solved.

We should consider tar and feathering and exiling any person so stupid as to suggest a mileage tax.

The time for rolling over to such claptrap is over
