Medal of Honor recipient and former Marine Dakota Meyer has signed on as a co-chairman of Veterans for Perry, a group throwing its support behind Texas Gov. Rick Perry in his run for president.
"As the only presidential candidate who volunteered to serve his country, the way that I did, I am confident that Gov. Perry will be an advocate for veterans like myself as president of the United States," Meyer said in a statement released by the Perry campaign Thursday.
Perry was an Air Force C-130 Hercules pilot from 1972 to 1977.
Meyer was awarded the Medal of Honor at the White House in September for heroic actions in Afghanistan in 2009. Then a Marine corporal, he and Marine Staff Sgt. Juan Rodriguez-Chavez repeatedly drove an armored vehicle into an ambush site to try and rescue fellow Marines and Afghan allies. Rodriguez-Chavez was awarded the Navy Cross.
.....Meyer's co-chairs on Veterans for Perry include Medal of Honor recipient retired Marine Maj. Gen. James E. Livingston, who was awarded the medal for leading an attack on a heavily fortified enemy village in Vietnam in 1968. Livingston continued to lead and press the attack even after being wounded three times, according to his citation.
Other veterans serving as co-chairs include Chuck Larson, Sr., retired Army colonel and former U.S. attorney and a justice attaché to the U.S. embassy in Iraq; retired Army Lt. Col. William R. Mann, now political observer, analyst and writer in Florida; and retired Army Capt. Allen B. Clark of Texas, who served as Assistant Secretary for Veterans Liaison and Program Coordination under President George H.W. Bush and as director of the National Cemetery System at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

It's time for Conservatives to rally around Perry. He's more likeable than Newt or Mitt, has a better more consistent record. He has a military background and he has the jobs numbers to crush the Kenyan.
Sorry. Only God can assemble a Medal of Honor recipient.
Voters should take note of how Perry surrounds himself with quality people. Remember the old saying that you can judge a man by the company he keeps? On the other hand, Obama’s taste in campaign co-chairs ran to people like Jesse Jackson, Jr. and Valerie Jarrett.
He has been sounding better here lately. I think he has a chance but it is a small one. I would have no problem voting for Rick Perry. I think he made a mistake not doing the Trump thing but the Trump thing might fall through.
EXCELLENT!

I agree with you. My Grandmother used to say: “Show me your friends, and I can tell who you are!”
Major General James Everett Livingston, Medal of Honor recipient and one of the national co-chairs of the Veterans for Perry Coalition said: “He has advocated on behalf of veterans and their families as governor of Texas, and I know he will proudly represent me and veterans across the nation when he is president.”
Looks like Trumps Debate would interfere with Rick Perrys planned bus tour of Iowa. He’s trying to meet as many Iowans as possible before the Caucus.
Take a look here:
I think meeting as many Iowans as possible is the right decision for Rick Perry.
Pretty amazing how Perry and his team are arranging the deck chairs!!
Nice Titanic metaphor. Fits the Perry campaign to a 'T'.
Many people have remarked on the interview linked below.
The man Rick Perry appointed Texas Chief Justice Wallace Jefferson -- a good example of the caliber and character of leaders Gov. Perry appoints and consults.
This reminds me of how it spoils every awarding of a Medal recipient now by seeing that phony Obama pin the medal on and give the old pat on the back.
I would love to see a true patriot like Perry pin a medal on somebody.
Men of Honor.
I find it disgusting that BAE is disparaging MOH recipient Myers by claiming he has emotional problems from his service in Afganistan. Interesting when Meyers blows the lid on BAE making special scopes to sell to Paki by our State Dept. Scopes NOT available to OUR soldiers, the Military sits by while BAE attacks Meyers.
Any doubt that when Perry is President BAE gets yanked from the approved Military Constractors.
This is very impressive, and to see Veterans supporting Veterans is so great.

Thanks for posting the link to this interview:
TX Chief Justice Wallace Jefferson has an inspiring story. And he comes across as thoughtful man of excellent character.
If I recall correctly, Gov. Perry has appointed most of the current Justices of the TX Supreme Court.
In an interview I heard him say that they are ‘strict constructionists’ who respect the Constitution as the Founders wrote it.
Ping to FRiends... Please listen to the interview with Wallace Jefferson, Chief Justice of the Texas Supreme Court.
On now:
Caller just asked about ethanol.
