“But Gingrich has a few Tea Party leader endorsements under his belt, including from Tea Party Nation founder and CEO Judson Phillips, who gives the former speaker leeway on what some conservatives see as his past mistakes. “Newt Gingrich is not perfect, but he is head and shoulders above the best candidate in the field right now,” he says.”

I didn't realize Kool-Aid has become the official drink of the Tea Party. Newt Gingrich is many times better than Barack Obama (and I will vote for him if he is the nominee) but big-government loving Newt is no conservative.

Tea Party “LEADERS?” The Tea Party movement has NO LEADERS. We are autonomous.

As the founder of the Mansfield North Central Ohio Tea Party Association, I can tell you NO ONE who has a legitimate Tea Party group listens to these publicity seekers.

We are NOT sheeple. We think for ourselves and I can tell you that the vast majority of people in our Tea Party will not vote for Gingrich or Romney or Paul. We want a true Conservative.

Well, I think Rand Paul is right, and I question the legitimacy of these self-appointed tea party leaders to be dictating who is or is not worthy of tea party support.

Can they refute Rand Paul’s article:

http://www.desmoinesregister.com/article/20111209/OPINION01/312090025/Rand-Paul-Republicans-would-take-giant-step-backward-by-choosing-Gingrich

Probably not.

I lean TEA Party....I’m voting for Newt in the primary.

I understand WHY Senator Paul is doing what he is doing. I respect Senator Paul in all honesty. In that same honesty I can never cast a vote for his father. Not ever.

The man looked at 9/11 and saw a crime or retribution for our support of Israel or even “and inside job” when normal people looked at 9/11 and saw a bloodthirsty war crime.

He does not support border security.

While he is personally pro-life, I do not believe that the Libertarian blood that flows in his veins would allow him to interject in a private decision and stop an abortion.

Prostitution and drugs? I don’t favor either of those things but I don’t hold it against Paul that he does.

Defense....he’d (imo)let millions die in nuclear fire rather than order a first strike upon an enemy.

The Tea Party Express is proud to stand for six simple principles

No more bailouts
Reduce the size and intrusiveness of government
Stop raising our taxes
Repeal Obamacare
Cease out-of-control spending
Bring back American prosperity

Thursday Rand Paul called Hannity’s radio show. Hannity said he is on the phone with breaking news. When he got him on the phone it was about his hit piece on Newt. Hannity told him he thought it was about some new legislation and that all candidates have their shortcomings including his dad. Later, Paul Rand was on Fox bashing Newt again and saying his dad can get the independents. I think Ron Paul has a lot of good things economically but he blames us for terror attacks and 9-11 and thinks Iran should have nukes. How can Rand Paul as a tea party person support that? Here is Mark Levin on Ron Paul:

Awesome: Mark Levin torches Ron Paul

This is a long clip, but it’s great. Levin completely dismantles Ron Paul over his recent statements about Bush being gleeful after 9/11, and his nutty foreign policy.

If you don’t have 17 minutes, then skip to 10:00 for the second segment. But you’ll be missing out on some great stuff.

I really like Rand Paul and was thrilled he beat the asshole Jack Conway in Kentucky and thrilled he survived that set up attack where supposedly someone was mugged at his rally.

Having said that, I was horrified at his shameless attack on Newt. Rand boy, without Newt’s success in the 90s’, you don’t have a chance to run, let alone win, in Kentucky in 2010.

newt isn’t worthy of any form of tea party endorsement. If the tea party folks talking like they endorse newt as a tea party candidate, I will have Zero respect for the tea party.

""I want people to go out there and work for who they believe in," says Tea Party Express Chairman Amy Kremer, who says she or any individual shouldn't dictate who people in the movement ought to vote for."

This is funny as all get-out coming from Kremer, who starts running her pie-hole publicly trying to do just that about once a week.

Once again, the Republican Party will fail to field a true conservative. We will face a dedicated, unrepentant Marxist seeking re-election. God help us all.

Puhleze, the self appointed Tea Party “leaders” do not speak for anyone but themselves. It’s obvious that those same self appointed “leaders” are foolishly buying into the meme that the only way to defeat 0bama is to be a smooth talking, flip flopping master debater. Principles and history be damned.

Good heavens, Newt has pushed the very thing that got the Tea Party into hyper drive, the Individual Mandate! Let’s not forget the other big gov’t policies of ethanol subsidies, cap and trade, and enriching himself with Fanny & Freddie while home owners got royally screwed.

I also don’t get how supposed strict small government, fiscal conservatives who are staunchly pro 2A can give this wannabe gun grabber the time of day much less the drooling support because he talks pretty.

Well at a minimum there needs to be fiscal conservatism and a road out of the deficit abiss.

I wish there could be the perfect conservative candidate that could do it all.

#1 Have a spotless past.
#2 Be conservative ENOUGH.
#3 Be elouquent and have a personality.
#4 Be politically savvy.
#5 That could use the position to rally America back to what it should be.

Hope we can do most of that, but it isn't easy and we have no perfect person.
