National Gun Rights org says Newt's a Gun Grabber - vanity
Vanity

Posted on 12/12/2011 10:51:46 AM PST by Westbrook

I just got a phone call from the folks at http://www.nationalgunrights.org/

They are saying Newt is a gun-grabber.

Have a look at this. http://www.nationalgunrights.org/he-wants-your-thumbprint/

Does not sound very conservative to me.

I was unimpressed with the site's presentation. This guy claims to have spent 20 years in the movement. I've spent 10 years on the inside and followed the issue closely since 93, and managed to get a good BS detector.

Where was that quote from? I know Newt supported instacheck, but where was his quote on the thumbprint. What was the context?

That aside. The climate in 1997 was much different for gun owners than today. Momentum was still with the anti's some with a big CCW defeat in Missouri and anti-gun gains on the coasts. 1993 was anti's best year. 1994 was a comeback. 1995 shifted attitudes against us thanks to OKC. 1996 Clinton won again. Stalemate for awhile. Gore's loss turned it back our way.

Do I think Newt's a good friend of gun owners? No more or less than Bush. They aren't true believers but may go our way. He's better than Romney. He's not Perry or Ron Paul on this issue.

newt voted for the Brady Bill and the Lautenberg bill and that makes him anti gun to me. The NRA endorsed harry reid and donated $5,000.00 to his reelection campaign... so remember that when you reference NRA support.

Some of us still judge a man by his deeds, not his words. Newt can’t separate himself from his record.

I can’t confirm that Gingrich supported any of that fascist garbage but I can tell you for certain that he’s far and away better than Obama.

I judge the man by his past and his present and what he intends to do in the future... and he fails on all three tests.

Her is a little blip from 98. Notice the article doesn’t say she was dying. Just recovering. Yeah he’s a real gem.

During April 1980, Newt and Jackie separated. They divorced in February 1981.
“The most notorious incident in Gingrich’s marriage ... was when he cornered Jackie in her hospital room where she was recovering from uterine cancer surgery and insisted on discussing the terms of the divorce he was seeking. Shortly after that infamous encounter, Gingrich refused to pay his alimony and child-support payments. The First Baptist Church in his hometown had to take up a collection to support the family Gingrich had deserted. Six months after divorcing Jackie, Gingrich married a younger woman, Marianne, with whom he had been having an affair.”

You could confirm all of this through House archives or just searching for newt's voting record. I agree that since obama is the worst president ever to infect the White House, newt would be better... but newt cannot be painted truthfully as a conservative... he is not a conservative and his rhetoric is not conservative and some of his votes were absolutely progressive in nature.

RUSH JUST THIS SECOND SAID, “newt had some home run answers in the debate... he quotes Reagan and says he is proudly a Reaganite (plays newt soundbite from debate)... but should I tell them Snurdley? Ok... ok... after the 2008 election... when the “Era of Reagan is over” chorus began... newt was there... he was among the first to sign on to it... I am just saying.”

Yep... I was listening live to Rush interview him in February 2009 when he said it... and Rush kicked his arse... and newt spun and then tried to “explain what he really meant”. That is newt... always crapping in the Conservative's mess kit and dumping sand on it and telling us that it is powdered sugar.

Yes, of course, we’re daily Kos because we don’t trust backstabbing gungrabbers.

That’s rich.

Enjoy your fantasy.

Newt’s about as conservative as George Bush the first.

And do you wish to sit in judgment?

Do you know for sure the details of this relationship and if their was no fault on the wife's side, at all?

I do recall that King David had more than a few black marks in his record, yet God said he was “after His own heart”.

I do know that St. Paul was a tax collector and loyal Roman persecutor of Christians until his Road to Damascus conversion.

I do know that St. Jerome, who was essential to the translation of the Bible, struggled with many personal moral issues.

I know that Gingrich has faults. I also know that he would make a much better President than Obama.

Obviously you have no idea of what “catholic” means.. Pity..
Both roman orthodox and protestants are “catholic” -OR-
Catholic does not mean catholic..

Give it a rest. This is about electing a man or woman to Lead this Nation.

We have LOST all sense of morality. Nothing is sacred any more. Marriage, children our fellow Americans and certainly the loss of respect for our constitution.

Newt is just another prostitute politician that will sell his soul for a vote. Newt learned from BJ. Keep your mouth shut about your morals of a feral cat and the idiot electorate will vote for you every time.

You are being pedantic.

The term “WASP” means WHITE ANGLO SAXON PROTESTANT and the description would mean nothing if it did not indicate a distinction between Roman Catholic and Protestant.

You made a stupid mistake.

We all do it, at times.

Now be big enough to admit it, ok?
