Sarah Palin Fails To Find Buyer For Latest TV Show

Sarah Palin Fails To Find Buyer For Latest TV Show Sarah Palin has so far failed to find a buyer for her latest television show idea in a further sign that her star is on the wane.

In the last few years Sarah Palin has made millions of dollars from two books and numerous public appearances By Nick Allen 13 Dec 2011

The former Republican vice presidential candidate's new proposed foray into reality TV would focus on her husband Todd's career as a champion snowmobile racer. It would be a follow up to "Sarah Palin's Alaska," an eight-part travelogue which was sold to The Learning Channel (TLC) for more than $1 million an episode and first broadcast in November last year.

That show followed the former Alaska governor and her family around the state, including footage of her shooting a caribou on a hunting trip, going on a deep sea fishing expedition, and visiting a logging camp. It broke ratings records for a first episode on TLC, drawing more than five million viewers. However, it dropped to three million for the second episode and received mixed reviews, with entertainment industry bible Variety commenting "Boring? You betcha".

Discovery Communications, which owns TLC, has not bought the latest idea for a Palin show. Cable and satellite broadcaster A&E Networks, which bid for the previous series, is also reportedly not interested.

If you are an example of a young conservative, then we are in deep doodoo. You need to think like you are over 12 and fighting pimples.

If you do not like her anymore, you fickle little weasel go on threads that do not contain her name. That would require discipline, and you do not have it. At least you are not embarrassing yourself with suicidal sounding posts anymore.

“I just file them away as being from the innately ‘corrupt’ wing of the GOP establishment.”

I think many of them have more primal issues, about women, mothers, wives, entrepreneurs and people of faith. Some of them actually are articulate and principled conservatives who then go into wild frothing fits about pretty much any of the Palins. Envy, resentment, longing . . . I don’t know, but the haters are not reacting to anything conscious or rational. It is deeper and more primitive than that, even when the people are not themselves primitives. Some of her supporters are like that too, although most of those turned on her when she decided not to run.

I like her. A lot. She is a squandered asset and too many wanted to see her Borked precisely because she did have so much potential.

Wow ! What a tragedy. Sarah will have to live out her days with the several million dollars she made allowing the MSM to belittle and attack her. What a terrible fate to suffer. /s

“Can’t shake off the notion that Republicans who can stay in the private sector and many of those who can’t... get elected to something.”

I think that nails it - it explains a lot of mediocrity and unprincipled and/or opportunistic politicos we keep getting for president.

It’s clear that among 300+ million Americans, the best people are definitely not the people running for office.

I don’t sit on the edge of my seat breathlessly waiting to hear what Fred Thompson has to say, because I don’t have to.

He graciously comes into my living room on a routine basis to inform me about the financial security I can obtain if I would get a reverse mortgage for my home.

I do like her. I just see her rapidly evolving into a “what could/should have been” and all of it is self inflicted when she is not out there even trying in Iowa right now.

the media argument and the mean liberals threatening her arguement only works if she is out there trying. shes not even trying.

its sad that we will never know how good she would do in these elections because she is sitting at home.

Come on now, no-one forced you to give that $1K donation to Sarah-PAC two weeks before she let us know she decided she wouldn’t run

Think of it as a learning experience.

:)

Everybody here flamed me back in the summer when I said that if she didn't run, she would quickly become irrelevant.

The reason that her TV time was so popular was because a huge percentage of viewers were counting on her becoming president. She disappointed, and now she is disappointed.

Your entire post sounds like sour grapes and is loaded with misinformation. What has happened to you?

JD was a horrible, stinky candidate, and she backed Mccain before JD even put his hat in the ring. When are you people going to get a grip and stop blaming SP for JD being a $hitty candidate. If he had been the candidate in AZ instead of Mccain that seat would have been a DemocRAT seat pickup. Everyone knows that Mccain is a prostitute, but this was AZ.

SP served over 2 1/2 years as Governor. Why are you lying? How long do you think RR’s term as Governor of California would have been had he won the GOP Presidential nomination, then the General Election the first time he ran? By the time he would have been sworn in as President he would have been Governor of California 2 years.

You need to pick a decent candidate and stop trying to beat up on someone because you are pissed at the really crappy field. Stop blaming SP, look in the mirror.

You are right, they never stuck up for her or defended her about anything. She was fighting these wars by herself, and the enemy was both Republican and DemocRAT scum.

Is her 15 minutes of fame over?

She shoulda run...she would be knocking them out of the ballpark!

Instead, she’s consigned herself to mediocrity......

You are absolutely right, and I can’t help but wonder why more Freepers don’t see it. As much as we need her, and as much as I wanted her to run for three years, I was so afraid for her that I was relieved when she didn’t. Relieved for her, I mean, but not for the country.

I love Sarah, but I knew that her star power would plunge if she dropped out of the Pres. sweepstakes. The shame of it is that I believe now more than ever that she would have won the nomination handily. Bob

Yeesh... What a bunch of sour grapes useless gnashing of teeth (not you, exactly, but the whole thread).

Does the country need more people, or fewer... with the drive, enthusiasm, patriotism, energy and love of family and country like she has? Good grief. Have a little perspective, people. If only there were more like her around. A fewer people taking cheap shots at folks like that.

I’ll take her for a friend and neighbor, any day, over any bad-mouthing whiner.
