Inside Wukan: the Chinese village that fought back
Telegraph ^ | 12-14-2011 | Malcom Moore

For the first time on record, the Chinese Communist party has lost all control, with the population of 20,000 in this southern fishing village now in open revolt.

The last of Wukan’s dozen party officials fled on Monday after thousands of people blocked armed police from retaking the village, standing firm against tear gas and water cannons.

Since then, the police have retreated to a roadblock, some three miles away, in order to prevent food and water from entering, and villagers from leaving. Wukan’s fishing fleet, its main source of income, has also been stopped from leaving harbour.

The plan appears to be to lay siege to Wukan and choke a rebellion which began three months ago when an angry mob, incensed at having the village’s land sold off, rampaged through the streets and overturned cars.

Although China suffers an estimated 180,000 “mass incidents” a year, it is unheard of for the Party to sound a retreat.

Thousands of Wukan’s residents, incensed at the death of one of their leaders in police custody, gathered for a second day in front of a triple-roofed pagoda that serves as the village hall.

For five hours they sat on long benches, chanting, punching the air in unison and working themselves into a fury.

And this, boys and girls, is why the Anti-federalists -insisted- on the Bill of Rights generally, and the Second Amendment in particular.

They run the risk of the army going all Tienanmen on them.

Chinese Spring? I would like to think so, but it’s very treacherous territory for them. Chicoms don’t play around. BTW, the comments at the link are, in part, amusing. There is someone calling himself “meewaan” who claims the residents don’t own their land (guess who does) and that Britain’s treatment of Chinese nationals is far worse. “Meewaan” is demonstrably a Chicom propagandist—it is one thing the left does very efficiently if not convincingly. Sort of like our own adorable little lying DNC mouthpieces.

“They run the risk of the army going all Tienanmen on them.”

I would call it a certainty, but yes.

Once media attention departs, the chicoms will go in with brute force and bring this little episode to a swift conclusion.

I wish these fine people the best, but Mao murdered 80-million Chinese, and I don’t think the Butchers of Beijing are much different.

A President with stones would air drop weapons to the village and see that the harbor patrol boats had accidents.

We need to look back historically to discover who lost China. FDR was a communist agent, who gave China to Uncle Joe Stalin. FDR will dwell forever in Hell for his enormous criminal acts basically sentencing all of eastern Europe, the Balkans and China to communism.

He also shipped copies of everything the US made for it's Manhattan Project and nuclear know how to Stalin. The real person that deserved to be executed for leaking nuclear weapons equipment and technology to the USSR was FDR. The FBI abused the Rosenbergs suddenly creating a fall guy to cover up FDR's treason.

Documents show every single nut bolt, isotope and metal alloy shipped to Russia under Lenin-Lease. FDR gave away weapons to his buddy FDR. If you'd like to read about FDR's true legacy, I refer you to the FDR Page.

Enjoy real American history hidden from us all until the fall of the USSR.

Thomas Friedman is saddened. Don’t these villagers understand how good they have it under the enlightened dictatorship of the Party?
