Via Breitbart TV, a clever wink at the social-con constituency he’s now counting on to put him over the top. And not only in Iowa, either: Given the Tebow love around here lately, I think this dude might have just locked up the next Hot Gas reader poll.
Actually, I think Perry might be the Trent Dilfer of the caucuses: Terrible, yet somehow still ultimately the winner.
Dilfer is a superbowl winning quarterback. Would the joke have been funny if he said Dan Marino?
Well, I’ve read through the 21 postings on this thread and I have to say that most of the comments show a complete misunderstanding of Perry’s mention of Tebow.
He was posing an analogy, not saying he wanted to be like Tebow or expousing anything regarding religion.
He alluded to how Tebow was not considered to have the right mechanics for passing the football, vs. himself, who has been considered to not have debate skills.
He alluded to how Tebow was successful in winning championships in college, vs. himself, who has been very successful as Governor of Texas.
He alluded to Tebow being able to show success at the next higher level of his chosen career, the NFL, vs. himself, who would like to show he can be successful as POTUS.
ooops!
“expousing” = espousing
Our gov IS a handsome devil, isn’t he? LOL
Some of the kookiest Perry supporters have been banned and good riddance. But then some of the most vile still remain. The one who said those of us who oppose Perry's nanny-state Gardasil EO "hate Texas females and want them to die of cancer" is still here. Name calling is childish but it happens and to some degree is tolerated. But saying we want women of an entire state to die of cancer was one of the more vile remarks I have seen in my 10+ years at FR. And it was a staunch Perry supporter who said it.
I wonder who is writing these little “push the conservative button of the day” lines? One liners do not a good president make.
