White House aides argue they didn’t lose anything in the deal.

The current crop of spinners really do suck.

The secret is that no matter what is in the bill Keystone is not happening until Obama is out of office.

This is good to me on two points. I support Keystone and like everyone else, I am aware that a surtax on millionaires is nothing more than class warfare. That's point #1.

Point #2 is; I enjoy Obama showing everyone what an ineffectual leader he is.

“At the end of the day, what this tells me is that they’re more pragmatic than ideological.”

Spin it as they may once again the weakness of this President is on display. Another campaign gimmick taken away, Obama can no longer straddle the fence to appease both the unions and the enviros...he will be forced to choose a side and alienate the other.

I’m trying to figure out who is the biggest loser. Barry or his enviroloony donors. Americans are definitely the winners.

You can thank Newt for the cave on Keystone. He completely slayed Obama and his position to hold up a middle class tax cut to please a few environmentalists in SF in front of 7 million viewers Thursday night.

I was asking because I wonder whether you’ve been in the same room as Obama, and how you’d compare them in terms of the impression they make?

I was at Kua ‘Aina in Hale’iwa two years ago–

You met Obama at Kua ‘Aina?

He was squiritng ketchup onto seven hamburgers. There he was with a tray, at the ketchup pump. There were maybe 35 people in Kua ‘Aina, and not a single person recognized him. I was with Pico Iyer. I said I was going over to meet him. Iyer said not to do it, but I said, “I have to.” And he said, “I love your books about Southeast Asia.” Really, he is 10 times more charismatic than Clinton. Then he told Iyer, “I love your book on Cuba.” We had a great talk. He made a tremendous impression. In my lifetime, he’s the most impressive candidate for president that I’ve sene. More than Kennedy. JFK always seemed privileged, entitled.

What did you think of his book?

I thought it was tremendous. First of all, he actually wrote it himself. I’ve read McCain’s books…he tells a great story, but it’s not his prose style. He uses a ghostwriter. Obama can write. And he’s truthful, he talks about his flaws, about the negatives and the difficulties and the struggles. Drugs, race, all of that unpleasant stuff. Anyway, I think Obama will be the end of racial politics.

Seriously?

He could be. Because he’s the bridge. It was B.S. that Clinton was the first black president. But this could be the beginning of the end. In some people’s minds, he’ll never be. But I think he’s a bridge. He’s the most unlikely candidate for president–

Since Lincoln, maybe?

Yeah, he reminds me of Lincoln. The way he looks and talks and all of it, very Lincolnesque. And also, it’s the end of Karl Rove politics. The end of Guantanamo Bay. The end of torture. I believe that in my heart.

And they did lose nothing. There can be no decision on Keystone for sixty days. After that time owebama is restricted to nothing regarding K.

Where Republicans are missing the boat on this is in lambasting the Democrats over why the hell the State Department is the final approval authority over an oil pipeline.

White House aides are correct. They didn’t lose anything.

Obama will simply use the State Dept., EPA, or some other agency to get, around this bills provision for the pipeline.

This was a losing deal for Republicans.

He told us before he was elected that energy prices would sky rocket and he’s not about to go back on that statement.

This was a good idea to ONLY extend the "Social Security non-funding" for two more months.

Because at SOME POINT next year, Obama's MSM will start spinning how FANTASTIC the economy has become.

And the reason for this temporary "Social Security non-funding" was due to the bad economy.

So, Obama -- You can't have it BOTH ways:
Either the economy is BAD, so a SS-tax holiday may be warranted, [and it will wreck Social Security]
        OR
The economy is SUDDENLY GOOD again [election season], so Social Security needs FULL FUNDING - by the folks who will benefit.

The 60-day-clock was also good, to put Obama's feet to the fire and FORCE him to approve the Keystone jobs and with it, our independence from middle-east oil!

I don’t see why approval of the pipeline wasn’t put into the bill as a guarantee instead of leaving it up to Obama to decide. Enough jockeying for political advantage. I want to see things get done. Get things done and you can run on a record of the accomplishment. Why is that so hard? This actually leaves it open for Obama to wise up and approve it and take that advantage for himself.

The central issue of this Presidential Campaign is one that nobody is talking about: “In 2013, what US Federal Spending Programs ( Social Security, Medicare, Medicare, Obama”care,” Federal Aid to Education, Federal aid to dependent children, etc., etc., etc., are going to be reduced below their BASELINE spending levels?”

Starving the spendaholic US Federal Government politicians is a very good idea, so I respectfully disagree with you on the topic of re-instating ANY tax.

Once a tax is made inactive, it should then be abolished: STARVE THE FEDERAL BEAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FORCE THE FEDERAL BEAST TO BASELINE REDUCE SPENDING OUR MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Denying 100,000 pipeline jobs to American Citizens AT NO COST TO THE DAMNED US FEDERAL GOVERNMENT is an excellent example of putting the Democrat party above Country. Their political “deals” are similar to pissing into the wind! These political “deals” solve nothing, and make everybody downwind worse off!

The bone-headed con job that is going on now is that “All tax cuts must be paid for .” The reason the con job is being used is that the spendaholic Federal politicians want to keep the US Federal Government GROWING!

If America is to survive the damned US Federal Government, (Public Enemy Number One), we Americans have to force the Damned Federal politicians to cut spending BELOW THE PREVIOUS YEAR’S SPENDING!

As Radio Announcer Paul Harvey said: “ WHEN YOUR OUTGO EXCEEDS YOUR INCOME, YOUR UPKEEP WILL BE YOUR DOWNFALL.”

BTW, all Debt has to be paid back with interest. Thus, at 4 % Debt interest, The Total National Debt will double, even with a Balanced Budget Amendment.

BTW, BTW, pretend that you do NOT want to pass along a huge National DEBT to YOUR grandchildren - - - . Just pretend - - - .
