Because the 48% who pay no federal income tax won’t get any of the pay to vote Democrat money.
Why not cut gasoline and diesel fuel taxes to let everybody get some of their $4K back?

Because most Democrat voters don’t pay any income taxes.
The rationale for the payroll tax cut is that it incentivizes hiring, and will help unemployment. The Obama/Keynesian view of an income tax cut is that people will probably just save that money, or use it to pay back debt. I totally disagree with their view, but that’s why they want it. Most republicans in congress don’t know enough about economics to understand why they should disagree, so they go along with it.

So true. It’s been the obvious solution all along. Make it permanent and it’s better for the economy too.
Never forget the new tax on real estate transactions written into this raid on social security.. disguised as a ‘tax cut’. It seems we are loosing the war on language because few are calling this what it is.

Why not a tax plan where the first 50,000 of income is tax free and any additional is taxed at a flat rate of 10%?
Make 20k a year no taxes
make 60k get taxed on 10k and only pay 1k.
Make a billion get taxed at 10% on 999 million 950 thousand.

Exactly. AND it would create a reduction in tax revenues for them to use to save endangered beetles and to buy obscene “art” to put in government buildings. By taking it out of SS deductions, it does not affect the federal income tax revenues, AND it benefits even those who do not pay federal taxes.
Why not do away with the income tax entirely and give everyone their ENTIRE paycheck forever?

The First Moron wants to be the first president in history to go 4 years without an official budget.
No budget, no accounting, no oversight, he can go ahead and crank up a 30,000,000,000,000 national debt.
