Ron Paul accused US Troops of War Crimes in Desert Storm (1991)
Ron Paul Political Report (Transcribed) | October 15 1991 | Ron Paul

Posted on 12/23/2011 6:47:34 PM PST by mnehring

From The Ron Paul Political Report, October 15 1991

American Values?

During the Iraq war, American troops were instructed to use specially equipped tanks to bulldoze the trenches that held Iraqi soldiers- Not a single American was hurt, so meager was the resistance. Thousands of Iraqis, teenagers coerced into the army by the dictator Hussein, were buried alive, while the unprecedented military tactic was hidden from the public through media censorship. Captain Benny Williams, who Led the charge was awarded the Silver Star for his role. Also hidden: the apparent fact that many of the rag-tag teenage soldiers were trying to surrender as they were entombed.

Then why does he think Manning the traitor is a hero?

Because he's got this idea that the government (including the military) ought to have no secrets. Meaning that Manning was a hero for daring to divulge these secrets at the risk of losing his personal freedom. That Paul is the only major candidate in either major party that holds this view gives some idea of how deeply strange this particular position is.

As I've hinted earlier, Paul is probably an anti-semite, because of his fixation on Israel even though we have plenty of military welfare dependents around the globe. In other respects, he's either unworldly or a champion of our enemies' interests against our own. Bottom line - the guy's foreign policy is seriously unhinged.

i was actually impressed with the overwhelming of s. hussein and the spankin that george sr put on him...then equally disappointed when we let em up and allowed em to scurry home when we had em on the ropes...

as history showed, a TKO in that situation is NOT a proper finish...

as for ron paul, he says some crazy stuff in and out of context...

i still say foreign policy is the least of our concerns, as the congress is the branch that is 'supposed' to make DOW anyhow...

Thank you for that one glimmer of sanity in a thread full of histrionics over a post with no link or no source.

Perhaps you and Ron Paul would have been happier if it were U.S. troops slowly suffocating to death?

Paul was in the Air force for 5 years. He is a cowardly peace dove. He doesn't realize what it's like to be in a war.

Can't help but think of the quote attributed to Gen. George Patton.

"Our job is not to die for our country. Our job is to help the other SOB die for his!"

When our troops go to war they are not just playing GI JOE...they took an oath and they obeyed their commander in chief and the generals. Would you have prefered our soldiers be the ones in the cemetary? we know what teenagers and children are capable of...fight or die. God bless our military and Paul can go to hell

It doesn’t take much to convince any normal person that Paul is looney toons. Oh, YES, MOMMY...I want to grow up to be a prostitute..it is legal now. Who will over see that? another govt agency? like it or not..America is a judeo-christian nation and was founded on those very principals. Paul wants OPEN borders on one hand and isolation on the other...he is insane.
You better believe if heroine and cocaine become legal there will be serious consequences. INSANE!!!!!!!!!!!
Ron Paul should get out of the republican party and run as a libertarian. He is NOT republican, he is not conservative, he is anti Israel and he apparently has problems with our military.

It’s too bad that Ron Paul’s common sense stops at the water’s edge.

No doubt. This guy is not even worthy of shining Audie Murphy's shoes.

Thank you for saying what needed saying.

Newt didn't go nor did Romney or his sons. But they are all for the war on terror. That's like having a war on bombs or a war on murder.

Paul is the only one that has a prayer against Obama. People voted for Obama because they wanted a change but got more of the same and will be the change Obama promised but didn't deliver. Paul has been the same and does not change.

People will vote for him instead of "holding their nose", and voteing for the lesssor of two evils.
Then we will have change instead of the same thing from the same people.

"I want to grow up to be a prostitute..it is legal now."
Go to Nevada, it legal there. Just because its legal, it is not mandatory to participate, correct?

My question on illegal drugs is simple, where is all the money that is spent each year on drugs? It is not in coffee cans buried in Mexico. Where is this cash? What is it spent on? Billions!

Where is the Money?

It is walking around on our streets.

It is our young people who didn’t overdose on drugs because they decided the legal consequences outweighed any pleasure drugs could give and never got hooked.

It is the old woman in the grocery store who wasn’t beaten to death by the meth head who got locked up before breaking into her home to feed his habit...as he cant hold a job.
