Kwanzaa is wack. The other day I said this on my Facebook page. Actually, what I said was: Is it wrong of me to say that I love AFRICA, but I think Kwanzaa is wack?
Now, when I said it, I meant it but gave no thought to how it might affect people. Im kind of bad like that. A ton of people (some Black and some not) got on and said they thought Kwanzaa was wack too. I never thought about it again really. Just a funny little thread.
Then someone got real upset. I felt bad about that, truly. But the reality is that Kwanzaa was created by an FBI informant named Dr. Maulana Karenga. Straight up! Thats an actual fact. Beyond that, stuff like corn that is used in a lot of the rituals is not even native to Africa. A friend of mine noted its truly corny.

The new ‘big’ thin for blacks these days is to practice Judaism.
Hadn’t heard about that. I did just see FOX NEWS wish folks a “Happy Kwanzaa”. Made me want to gag.
I have a fair number of black Facebook friends and I see what threads they create.
When I was in college in the 1980s, the administration “recognized” Kwanzaa along with Christmas and Hanukkah, but only a few blacks participated in it.
Nearly all the blacks at my schools were Christians and celebrated Christmas. And I’m pretty sure that’s not unusual.
What next ??? ,,,, ya gonna tell me there ain’t no Santa ,,, Now here goes the after Christmas Kwanzaa sales I loved so much ,,,,,, DANG !!!!! what’s the world comin’ to ???
I’m surprised there’s not a Charlie Brown special, featuring Franklin.
Is it wrong of me to say that I love NORTH AMERICA? Yes. I would say, “I love the United States of America”, a COUNTRY! Now I realize African countries change their names more often than Barney Frank changes his condom, but still, love for a CONTINENT? Australia and Antarctica excluded because Australia is also a country, and Antarctica has no countries and even Europe with the EU, is still sovereign individual countries.
It's hard to love a continent.
Zany!
Why can’t you love us Canadians too?
I'm kidding of course, but it's a massive culture shock out here still. As best as I can tell, we are the most "exotic" family in the neighborhood! We checked the demos and found that .004 percent of the population was Cuban and thought:"It must hurt to be .004 percent of someone."
Ok, enough, Arizona isn't really that homogenic, the breakdown of cultures is spread out, with more Latinos and blacks further South in the Phoenix area.
Anyway, the point being, if there's any major benefit, I never have to hear about Kwanza out here. For that much, I'm grateful. OTOH, I don't know any black people that celebrate it from Florida, so who knows if it's any more than divisive liberal BS pushed upon that part of the populace to compel them to further embrace an identity that's less American and more culturally isolated?
Not sure if it is available anywhere but the funniest Kwanzaa commentary was from Tim Meadows on SNL. It is a skit with Vanessa Williams celebrating Kwanzaa and Tim goes by ‘Kwanzaa Timmy’. Really funny if you can find it!
HAPPY COMMUNISM!
