Why Americans Support Voter ID Laws
Real Clear Politics ^ | December 27, 2011 | Jack Kelly

The state chairman of Indiana's Democratic Party resigned recently as a probe of election fraud in the 2008 Democratic presidential primary widened...

The NAACP has asked the United Nations to intervene to block state voter ID laws. It may have an ulterior motive for opposing ballot security measures. An NAACP official was convicted on 10 counts of absentee voter fraud in Tunica County, Miss., in July.

Former Democratic Rep. Artur Davis, who is black, said vote fraud is rampant in African-American districts like his in Alabama.

"The most aggressive contemporary voter suppression in the African-American community is the wholesale manufacture of ballots at the polls and absentee, in parts of the Black Belt," Mr. Davis said. "Voting the names of the dead, and the nonexistent, and the too mentally impaired to function cancels out the votes of citizens who are exercising their rights."...

This year there have been investigations, indictments or convictions for vote fraud in California, Texas, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Georgia, North Carolina and Maryland. In all but one case, the alleged fraudsters were Democrats.

In none would the fraud alleged have altered a major election, Democrats note. But in the Illinois gubernatorial election in 1982, 100,000 votes cast in Chicago -- 10 percent of the total -- were fraudulent, the U.S. attorney there estimated.

Fraud of the magnitude which swings elections typically combines absentee ballot fraud and voter registration fraud. At least 55 employees or associates of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now have been convicted of registration fraud in 11 states, says Matthew Vadum of the...

--snip--

A recent Gallup poll indicates why Mr. Holder is trying so hard to gut ballot security measures. Mr. Obama trails in all swing states. Democrats fear they can't win next year unless they cheat.

I think I read that you have to show your I.D. to vote in a union election. Isn’t that interesting?

Yes, and right now we do not have a government. We are being shafted by a bunch of self-serving elitist socialists who work only for themselves at our expense.

In none would the fraud alleged have altered a major election,

Looking back in time however, it is indisputable that Al Franken was elected by voter fraud.

Some Republican needs to introduce a bill to REQUIRE a photo of the card bearer ON the EBT card.

Bolling and Romney should pay some attention to this ~ they’ll probably end up in prison over their shenanigans in Virginia!

I just went to the doctors office and had to show a picture ID in order to see the doctor. I then went to get my prescription filled and had to shoe a picture ID. If I were to get foodstamps I would have to show a picture ID. Where are these people going to the Doctor. Where are they getting their prescriptions filled. And where are they getting any government handout without showing a picture ID? Just wondering.

That fraud and Arlen Specter were needed for Obamacare. I failed to mention Franken after trying to recall his name, I came up with Al Frank first, a former boss. Seattle, Washington's voter fraud gave us Senator Cantwell. They cheat a lot, but if it's not close, they can't cheat.

It's amazing to watch the gymnastics that the anti-ID proponents go through to try and justify their position. In making the case that requiring Photo-ID is such a burdensome requirement, they are holding a VERY weak hand and they know it.

Every election cycle we hear of Democrats getting busted for election fraud or intimidation.

They can’t win otherwise.

Any major office building in New York City requires a picture ID before you are permitted to enter.

Maybe the NAACP and/or ACLU could use their energy to run ID drives in the allegedly voter surpression areas and make sure all those who are eligible have proper ID.

They cheat. As Hewitt once wrote, they can’t cheat if it is not close. The Pubs must demand clean, clear voting , ID’s, watching polls, registrars that find or lose ballots, no Motor Voter or same day voting. And make sure the military ballots are counted.

Yep, I’m asked for a picture ID all the time.

I predict Holder and “his people” are going to be embarrassed on this one.

I support voter I.D. laws because I’d like to see my vote mean a little more than a free sticker on my coat saying that I’m a good boy because I voted. I got over that crap when I left first grade.

What’s most galling about this is, why does the question even need to be asked? Who are the people so lackadaisical about one of their most precious rights? I understand how people wishing to game the system want the rules to be corrupted. But how US citizens can have so little respect for their own heritage is truly baffling to me.
