Santorum couldn't win a national election. All he can do is clear a path to the nomination for Mitt. Santorum has spent his entire campaign in Iowa he has no ground game in any other state, will not be able to capitalize on any expected benefit from a top three finish in any other state, is taking votes from the only two conservatives with a chance of winning the nomination Gingrich and Perry.

Santorum is in it for himself.

whatever

people will notice him if he wins iowa. Winning in iowa is more publicity than any amount of campaigning he can do in any state.

That is a fact. But why let facts get in the way?

You'll not convince the second tier hopefuls. They will cling on to any ray of hope no matter how dubious.

History is about to repeat itself (re. 2008). The conservatives will continue to remain split - holding out for one non-viable candidate or another - and Romney will walk away with it.

There will be crying and recriminations galore. But, they won't be able to say that they were not told...

Santorum has also spent a lot of time in New Hampshire and South Carolina.

Beyond the fact Santorum is absolutely DESPISED by the major media.

And by “Despised, I mean actual, spitting, vehement HATE, on a scale that would astound you, if you walked in to a major media newsroom.

Your sick. I truly believe you are a liberal. Santorum is the most conservative of all of them and you are bashing him. You continue to want your liberal Romney and Newt and I pray every day that you do NOT get your wish.

As a Pennsylvanian who’s followed Rick’s career, I can still remember the candidate he supported in Iowa, 16 years ago.

Hint, his first name was “Arlen.”

Rick was always a loyal foot soldier for the GOP political establishment here in PA and nationally.

He has a pro-life position to be sure and is as a good a Catholic as Mitt Romney is a Mormon.

But when it comes to politics Santorum, like Romney, ends up being a tool of business as usual politics.

I see Santorum as a tool of the establishment to split conservative votes.

Mitt Romney has got the grassroots divided.

He has us where he wants us, split up into factions so he can win.

Santorum is in it for himself.

Couldn't we say that about others too? I think Santorum would be a good president though we will disagree with him on some points. He is hoping the IA retail politics will project him to national consideration. I hope it does too. He would be a refreshing candidate, and if the voters still want Obama, so be it!
