Why Should Jews, Blacks, Christians, Gays Support Ron Paul?

By Joel Leyden
Israel News Agency

New York, NY --- December 29, 2011 .... Who is Ron Paul? How much do you really know about him? Does he embrace all Americans?
Is he fit for the highest office in the US?

For the most part, I have ignored Ron Paul. Knowing him mostly as a racist lunatic. That is until this week when his PR people approached me to help secure the Jewish vote for his campaign.

It was not so much that I had any real, substantial disdain for Paul as I was surprised by the potency of his marketing and branding campaign. The professionalism of a PR campaign which has created a feel good atmosphere for those under 30.

That many who are just reaching voting age or are just beyond it, from Iowa, Connecticut and New York to Virginia, Arizona and Texas, really like Ron Paul. When you ask them why, they have no idea.

When you ask them if they are aware that he is associated with the KKK and neo-Nazis, they respond with an open mouth and blank stare.

Who is Ron Paul?

For one thing, he is not stupid.

Born Ronald Ernest "Ron" Paul on August 20, 1935 is a medical doctor, author and US Congressman coming from Texas's 14th congressional district. Paul serves on the US House Committees on Foreign Affairs and Financial Services, and on the Joint Economic Committee. He is the chairman of the Financial Services Subcommittee on Domestic Monetary Policy and Technology, where he has been an outspoken critic of American foreign and monetary policy.

Paul grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of Gettysburg College and Duke University School of Medicine, where he earned his medical degree. He served as a flight surgeon in the US Air Force from 1963 until 1968. He worked as an obstetrician and gynecologist during the 1960s and 1970s, delivering more than 4,000 babies, before entering politics in 1976.

Paul has been labeled the "intellectual godfather" of the Tea Party movement and has become well known for his libertarian ideas on many political issues, often differing from both Republican and Democratic Party positions. Paul has campaigned for President of the United States twice before, first during 1988 as the nominee of the Libertarian Party and again during 2008 as a candidate for the Republican nomination.

He is also the author and publisher of newsletters that go by the name: "Ron Paul's Freedom Report".

In these newsletters one can see who the real Ron Paul is. A medical doctor who cares for babies or a blatant racist who calls African Americans - Blacks "animals" who only behave when picking up their welfare checks. Ron Paul called the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King a “gay pedophile".

As for the Jews, he would not have sent US troops to fight the Nazis, liberate Jews from the Holocaust, blames the Jewish people and the CIA for 9/11 and would allow Iran to nuke Israel, which according to Ron Paul, should not exist.

Ron Paul and his PR campaign people say that they support Israel. They even created a Facebook page entitled Ron Paul Zionists for Israel. They visited me on Facebook and said in the most glowing terms that they would allow Israel to do whatever it wished if they got my vote. What they did not say to me is that Ron Paul would stop all aid to Israel, the only stable democracy in the Middle East. A small Jewish nation that trains US troops before they land in Iraq or Afghanistan and coordinates almost every security issue with Washington in defense of democracy against Islamic Jihad or Muslim Holy War against Jews and Christians.

As Ron Paul's social media team sweet talks me and begs me to "look at the issues" they fail to mention that on page 317 of his book, “Liberty Defined,” Ron Paul writes about the influence of the Israel government on the US and the “apartheid conditions that Palestinians are subjected to.”

Apartheid conditions?

In Israel there is no Apartheid. Not only do Jews and Arabs have equal access to all public places, there are Israeli Arabs serving in the Israel Defense Forces and Israeli Arabs who serve as court judges. Those who talk about Apartheid in Israel are either ignorant or lying.

I don't believe that Ron Paul is ignorant.

Many view Ron Paul as being perhaps the most dangerous man to run for President of the United States.

For Paul would try to destroy America's INTEL (Intelligence) agencies, stripping the CIA, the NSA and US military Intelligence of any power to act to defend the US. He would allow Iran to build nuclear weapons that would be used against Israel, France, the UK and any other part of Europe that disagrees with Iran. Ron Paul defends Iran and states that it is not going nuclear. This is in sharp contrast to the UN International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) which recently confirmed that Iran is indeed producing nuclear weapons.

Who is Ron Paul?

He supports and is supportive of such racist organizations as the American Nazi Party, the white supremacist StormFront, the National Socialist Movement, the John Birch Society, the Ku Klux Klan, Holocaust deniers and neo-Confederates. The racism and conspiracy theories of Ron Paul have driven some people to violence. Not only have Ron Paul’s racist supporters endorsed him and his views, he has endorsed them through his positions on the Civil War and the Civil Rights movement, without disavowing the support he gets from racists. This is guilt by racism.

In response to Ron Paul creating his fake Zionists for Israel group on Facebook, a very real Jews Against Ron Paul for President have opened a Facebook group to address Paul's racist and dangerous foreign policy positions for the US. The group should have been named Jews, Christian and Blacks Against Ron Paul and Racism.

Many have advised me to simply ignore Ron Paul. That he is of no consequence and by giving him attention I provide him with a platform. I disagree. And this is the responsibility of the Fourth Estate or more commonly known as the media.

The New Hampshire Union Leader newspaper calls Paul’s positions on national security issues “truly dangerous” and deems the Texas Republican “the favored candidate of the lunatic fringe.”

The Wall Street Journal says that Ron Paul believes that al-Qaida terrorists caught in the US should be treated as common criminals, not enemy combatants. He wants them read Miranda rights to which they are not entitled and he wants them tried and sentenced in civil courts rather than by military tribunals. What is needed to effectively fight and win a war and al-Qaida is indeed at war with the US, is the ability to gather information. Telling the enemy that it has a “right to remain silent” is beyond absurd.

And the Des Moines Register asks: Paul's bigoted newsletters need answers.

Most of the media views Ron Paul as a “dangerous isolationist” for opposing pre-emptive strikes and interventionist foreign policy. That Paul would rather stick his head in the sand than to help another Western, democratic ally.

To ignore Paul would be equal to have ignored Adolph Hitler. Both men use nationalism and fear tactics to gain support. And a powerful, psychotic ability to twist the truth. With regards to Israel, after Paul's PR team gave up telling me how much that they support Israel, in frustration, they began to show their real colors by attacking me as a Jew, calling Israel an Apartheid state and saying that Israel keeps Gaza in a prison. That the US taxpayer should stop supporting Jews in Israel. But that is no surprise as Islamic terror groups such as Hamas, Islamic Jihad and Hezbollah actually support Ron Paul. Perhaps they were the ones posting on my Facebook and Twitter accounts.

It is not so much how dangerous and out of touch with reality Ron Paul might be, but rather how effective his delivery system is, a professional PR machine which needs to be confronted.

So for those of you who cherish Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Snoop Dogg, Harry Potter, Jeff Black, Justin Bieber and the Vampire Diaries, think twice before you vote in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, New York or California. If you want to vote against Barack Obama, make your protest vote with a candidate who is not a racist. Do your research!

Do you want Ron Paul, the baby doctor, defending the US against terrorism or another candidate who understands both national security and the meaning of tolerance and respect for other religions, races and people who live in the United States and throughout the world.

When America even begins to think of electing a President who hates Jews, Blacks and other minorities, we lose our greatness as a free and open democracy.

Ron Paul also wants to legalize heroin and other dangerous, addictive drugs.

Is this a doctor you trust?

I wondered what Ron Paul looked like as a young man.

His goofy politics aside, isn't he too old to be president?

In four years, he'll be eighty years old!!

Careful, you guys. You will incur the wrath of the Libertarian FR lurkers. They will draw their books—and quite possibly their six-shooters as well—on you as well their 65-point on agenda that includes abrogating Indian treaties and the wearing cowboy hats. Now you have done it.

A solid endorsement, pretty much what I'd write in the unlikely event I were asked. I'll include my standard comment of the last couple days on the most pro-Israel candidate, more pro-Israel than Obama imo, probably a final time.

No, he isn’t pro-Israel, and his positions on foreign aid are irrelevant.

On numerous occasions he’s addressed the “problem” of Jewish neocons and the Likud Party control of the neocon tainted Bush administration. Including on the floor of the House. That’s not pro-Israel, it’s conspiracy lunacy. He’s stated that the Mossad, like the CIA, may have been behind the 1993 Trade Center Bombing. Not pro-Israel, conspiracy nonsense. Like his contention that GWB was pleased by 9/11, also libelous. It seems to me as a Government official he has an obligation to make the facts known, and turn them over to law enforcement

He does acknowledge Jews lived in the region a couple millennia ago. That’s nice, I guess it’s a plus, though it’s a pretty widely accepted fact

He describes the history of Zionism as a movement of Orthodox Jews (Herzl would be surprised as would have most of the "Orthodox" of the day) who wanted to separate secular European Jews from the culture they had assimilated into so well. Secular European Jews fully integrated and accepted into late 19th century Europe, like Alfred Dreyfus. 19th and 20th century European Jews would be surprised to find they were so well accepted and integrated. Is Paul stupid, or a revisionist, I don’t know.

Somehow his “history” of Israel and Zionism skips from the late 19th century to 1948 and the evil UN. Nothing important happened in the interim I guess, WWI, WWII, Turkey’s defeat, the Mandate period, economic development of Palestine (that’s what the future Jewish state was done), movement of Arabs to the region for economic reasons, no San Remo, no partitioning an Arab state for Jordon, no pogroms, the Mufti, he even forgets the little dust up caused by the Reich. All insignificant, I guess. Not worth assessing whether a defective version of history makes him pro-Israel.

Simply skip forward to 1948 when the UN lets Israel take the Arabs land. By successfully defending themselves from genocide I guess.

Quite telling is the Paul experience meeting a young palestinian attending school in the US. Her story about how her family was thrown off land in her family for centuries touched his heart. Just to build Israeli settlements. He’s a sentimental guy, but this is the Arab version of history.

Did I mention this meeting happened in the early 1950s, clear proof that Ron considers Tel Aviv a settlement. Like San Antonio I guess. But what the heck, it was just a group of people taking land from others on the specious arguement that G-d told them to do it. Classic pro-Arab fairy tale from the Congressman, not a pro-Israel position.

For anyone interested in learning more about the conflict, Paul recommends Jimmy Carter's Apartheid work. It's on the Code Pink suggested reading list too. Largely discredited in pro-Israel circles.

The idea that Paul is pro-Israel is absurd, he has a clear anti-Israel mindset. Whether he’s an antisemite is a different issue not worth getting into. Because it’s an opinion, and irrelevant given his willingness to associate with world class Holocaust deniers, Jewhaters and racists. That alone should be a disqualifier for high office, as it should have been for the current occupant of the White House.

Interestingly like Obama’s racist baggage Paul’s has been known here on FR for years, it’s a shame more people didn’t pay attention, preventing a potential embarrassment for whoever the Republican candidate is, and depriving Obama supporters of an effective issue.

Good post. The only people I know who love Paul are radicals, not Conservative. Politically, long ago they shifted from reason to faith. They hate Obama but cannot see that they are just like his true believers and worship in spite of the facts.
