Have the youth given up on Obama?
CNN World ^ | December 30,2011 | Brad Chase

Posted on 12/30/2011 12:20:06 PM PST by Hojczyk

The sobering reality: just 55.3 percent of Americans between 16 and 29 have jobs. And earlier this year, Americans’ student loan debt surpassed credit card debt for the first time ever.

In 2008, the youth vote helped sweep Barack Obama into office. Americans 18-29 spread the word on social media, energized fundraising and went to the polls.

In 2012, the youth vote is moving on and throwing those omnipresent “Hope” bumper stickers and t-shirts in garbage bins.

Not because of apathy. Not because another candidate generates more enthusiasm. Not because of his character. Not because they think voting is pointless. The 18-29 vote is up for grabs in 2012 because youth can’t afford cars to put bumper stickers on and those t-shirts are worn out from too many days sitting on the couch unemployed.

To win the youth vote in November, a Presidential candidate could start by:

- Creating a limited student debt forgiveness program: I

- Controls on Predatory Lenders/Servicers:

- Allowing Student Loan Discharge in Bankruptcy: I

How about controls on predatory government? Anybody propose that one? How about predatory colleges?

The comments at CNN are disturbing.

Defeating Obama will not be an easy task.

No, see, we can only regulate entities that actually promote capitalism. So loan companies are “predatory” because they require customers to pay a lot of money for a product that rapidly loses value and ends up costing more in the long run. Conversely, colleges are laudatory because they encourage students to invest in their futures and earn degrees that are tragically crowded out of the marketplace of ideas by big ol’ mean Republicans with business degrees, thereby costing their recipients lost salaries in the long run.

The “youth” need to be confronted with their greed.

Their whole reason for supporting socialism in general and 0bama in particular is that they wanted to get the “stuff” that those who have paid their dues and earned through a lifetime of hard work

without working for it and earning it themselves.

That’s all it comes down to.
“The old farts got all the stuff and I don’t got nuthin”

GW Bush and the Republicans in Congress managed to:

1. Change the bankruptcy laws so student debt was not dischargeable in a b/k court filing.

2. Pass Medicare Rx plan law that will transfer huge sums of wealth from the poorest age demographic to the richest age demographic.

3. Scumbag Boehner this year demanded only one budget reduction line in the sand on the omnibus budget... the ending of interest and principal payment deferral programs for Federal student loans,.. of all of the trillion dollars of pork in the Federal budget, he targeted only one demographic, the current and recent college graduates, Boehner is a scumbag who will NEVER gain the support of the youth vote, his continued presence in GOP leadership means the GOP party of old stupid rich people will NEVER gain the youth vote, even in an election cycle like this one where the youth vote is low hanging fruit.

The GOP explicitly declared warfare against the youth and young adults of this country.

Expose the youth of America to the exciting ideas of Jefferson, Madison, Adams, Washington, and the other truly revolutionary men and women of 1776 and 1787, and those youth will see through the counterfeit idea of "redistribution" which is killing their chances for freedom and opportunity.

The problem is that so-called "progressives" rejected and censored the Founders' ideas from the textbooks, and youth who sat in the classrooms now are reaping the consequences of the bogus economic ideas they were taught.

A good dose of the explicit statements of the Founders might "unclothe the emperor" and reveal the counterfeit nature of his policies.

That is why we are a republic. If society were run by the people (i.e. the passions of the masses),we would not recognize our country. That being said,Obama’s America will resemble this until it breaks up like most failed states.

“The sobering reality: just 55.3 percent of Americans between 16 and 29 have jobs. “

And the sobering reality is most of these jackasses deserve it.

THIS is the “Hope and Change” they voted for when they put that subversive Marxist Muslim in the White House.

Couldn’t happen to a better bunch.

What vesting do most young adults have in society?I served my country and refuse to be a victim.Loans are not grants or government ATM.I repaid and so can they.If they are unhappy, they can vote the bums out.If I remember correctly,Obama and the Democrats had plenty of time to make change. Most do not know who Boehner is let alone pronounce or spell his name correctly.Yes,compasionate conservative Bush at the end was wrong but Obama supersized everything Bush did.Obama amplified the bailout mentality under a socialist agenda.Young adults need to grow up and stop bitching and “occupying”.Live a few responsible years and earn your keep in a country that men spilled blood for.

Your wisdom and insight are right on the money. Soon......the handouts from Obama will have to cease!!! Why? No money and a bankrupt USA!!! The teenies ought to wise up and realize the gravy train is coming to an end. And.....while we are at it, Black Americans also better get on board and throw Obama under the bus!!! Fact: There is no such thing as a free lunch!!! Period!!!

Life is really going to be miserable when we spend ourselves into empty pockets!! And....with & under Obama and the Democrat Party, the failure end of the USA is in clear sight. Can’t happen here, you say!!! Really!!!

Ever hear of the empires of Rome, Persia, Egypt, USSR, Greeks, Germans (NAZI,s), Japan, Ottoman empire, etc. Think the USA is any different. Just take a good look how one man, Obama in three short years has destroyed the USA economy and put our nation in real harm’s way!!! Better start getting real folks, all folks!!! We are headed for the same fate as our forebears!!!

I don't buy that at all. They will vote socialist because they need someone else's money. They know they won't do as well under the Republicans. - Tom

They don’t want to pay their dues,
and they don’t want anyone else being rewarded for doing just that.

It’s been working ever since Roosevelt. Why mess with a winning formula?
