KUHNER: Will Obama steal the 2012 election?
The Washington Times ^ | 12/30/11 | Jeffrey Kuhner

Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. claims Jim Crow is returning. In a recent speech, Mr. Holder said that attempts by states to pass voter identification laws will disenfranchise minorities, rolling back the clock to the evil days of segregation. He said that a growing number of minorities fear that “the same disparities, divisions and problems” now afflict America as they did in 1965 prior to the Voting Rights Act. According to the Obama administration, our democracy is being threatened by racist Republicans. Hence, the Justice Department must prevent laws requiring a photo ID to vote from being enacted.

Mr. Holder argues that voter ID laws disproportionately discriminate against poor blacks and Hispanics - citizens who cannot afford to acquire a driver’s license, passport or other form of photo identification. The latest victim is South Carolina; its voter ID law has been blocked by the Justice Department. Liberal Democrats - taking their cue from the White House - are portraying the national movement for election reform as an authoritarian assault upon civil liberties. The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People has even petitioned the United Nations, asking it to declare states’ voter ID laws human rights abuses. For the radical left, America has become Vladimir Putin’s Russia.

This would be comical if the consequences were not so serious. South Carolina’s legislation provides for free ID cards to be given to anyone who needs it. Not one person - white, black or brown - is discriminated against or discouraged from casting a vote at the ballot box. Moreover, the Supreme Court already has ruled on the issue - upholding state voter ID laws.

Moreover, the Supreme Court already has ruled on the issue - upholding state voter ID laws.

Hence, what the DOJ is doing is patently illegal and should be ignored.

BTW, I’m dead serious. Let them send troops to interdict a law that has already been upheld by the SCOTUS. It would make great press.

Do poor people need some form of ID to acquire food stamps or bridge cards or whatever they get from the welfare office these days?

When the Attorney General of the United States of America has to sink so low as to use the race card against the American people, you know this country is in deep kimchi. Eric the Holder really needs to resign. He’s in over his head.

“The latest victim is South Carolina; its voter ID law has been blocked by the Justice Department.”

Holder’s reasoning appears to be that if he delivers 900 percent of the vote, Obama won’t have to steal the election.

Eric the Holder really needs to resign. He’s in over his head.

Only in that he is being unforgivably clumsy (at least, to his string-pullers) in carrying our their orders and furthering their agenda.

In being such an incompentent buffoon, he exposes his master's wishes. Unfortunately, they wish to remain unexposed, hence his obvious public anxiety these days.

Can somebody explain to me how the Justice Department on its own can block any State law? I expect stupidity from journalists but this is at a level that surprises even me.

if it ain’t nailed down...

Just look at the BS that has happened in Wisconsin this past year to see what the unionista thugs and their enablers in the media, the radical left, the black militants, the unwashed masses (aka hippie Occupiers, and their corrupt political cronies (i.e “Fleabaggers”) are capable of and you’ll have a preview of the Obama Playbook for 2012.

They will make Alinsky proud, I have no doubt.

Actually, the SCOTUS ruling was VERY narrow. This could be a major problem for us and may not get to SCOTUS before 2012.

And you can’t just ignore a law suit

“Will Obama Steal the 2012 Election?”

Does a bear use the woods as a rest room? Do policemen like donuts? Do Progressives like to call Conservatives Nazis? Are Democrats adolescent, psychotic punks?
Do moronic Democrats, who think of themselves brilliant, love to wear t-shirts with Che Guevarra’s picture on them? Are airplanes designed to fly through the air? Do fish swim? Do snakes like to slither on the ground? Are Democrats oleoaginous serpents? And last of all, are Democrats really, really scu*bags?

Just asking.

Can somebody explain to me how the Justice Department on its own can block any State law?

Section 5 of the 1965 Voting Rights Act grants the Department of Justice the power to block any state law concerning the voting process...in fourteen states.

And only those fourteen states.

Never mind that the South Carolina law is word-for-word identical to the Indiana law -- which was approved in full by SCOTUS. Eric Holder has the power to block the law in South Carolina (but he didn't have it in Indiana).

He will lose in court, of course. But, in the meantime, he will delay its implementation as long as he can.

Is Section 5 constitutional, since it applies to only fourteen states? Of course not. And it was this feature that led Barry Goldwater to famously vote against the Voting Rights Act, claiming (rightly) that it should apply to every state. For his trouble, the Democrats labelled him "racist" -- a title that tars all Republicans even today.

Now you now...

to get food stamps you must bare your sole to the Federal, State Government.

the personal identifying information is limitless..totally demanding..had several friends actually cry about it..they were devastated.

Eric Holder is a crook, thug, jerk, and many more titles I would like to bestow upon him...and his side kick Hussein...or maybe I should say Hussein and his side kick..which ever fits.
