Santorum Schools Yet Another MSM Journalist on Obama’s Appeasement – This Time, NBC’s David Gregory
Big Journalism ^ | January 1, 2012 | Joel B. Pollak

Last month, Sen. Rick Santorum schooled CNN’s Candy Crowley on the subject of President Barack Obama’s appeasement of America’s enemies.

Today, on NBC’s Meet the Press, it was David Gregory’s turn.

Like Crowley, Gregory attempted to “fact-check” Santorum by arguing that it could not possibly be “accurate” or “objective” to describe Obama’s foreign policy as “appeasement.”

In particular, he challenged Santorum to distinguish Obama’s policy on Iran from that of his predecessor, George W. Bush. (For several years, Democrats have tried to defend Obama by pointing out that the Bush administration refused to approve military strikes, either by the U.S. or by Israel.)

Santorum, as usual, delivered the facts on demand:

Video worth watching. Santorum did a good job. And, although perhaps not as substantive as some other of Santorum's comments, I especially liked Santorum's dig at how Obama being from Chicago could understand how the leader of Iran could know the exact vote totals minutes after the election was over.

I have pretty much decided to vote for Rick Santorum in my state's GOP primary. He is a clear-minded, sincere, and articulate conservative with an incredible mental library of facts at his disposal. Senator Santorum would be a formidable debating challenge for Mister Obama.

(I will also vote in the general election for whomever wins the GOP nomination, no matter who it is. The Dems can't win without a third-party spoiler (or two).

While these numbers seem encouraging for Santorum, I just went through the “List of Endorsements” for each candidate on Wikipedia.org. No one has any significant number of endorsements to speak of except Romney. Even Judge Bork is for Romney! Paul also has a surprisingly large number of endorsements but mostly from non-elected officials. Phyllis Schlafly is for Bachmann; none of the few for Santorum is well known.

Well if Wikipedia doesn't give Santorum any love, I guess we should just surrender and give the nomination to Romney.

Well then, Willard’s endorsements better get themselves to the caucusus Tuesday night.

Because their guy is in HUGE danger of losing to Santorum.

Yes, Santorum!

It’s a listing of all candidates’ endorsements. It’s just that Rick Santorum has so few. You can find it under “Rick Santorum presidential campaign, 2012”. Change the name to the other candidates and following the same format to call up the endorsements. Romney’s numbers would seem to indicate that it is all over before the first caucus straw poll. Romney has few TX endorsements, except for GHWB and James A. Baker, III.

Ditto. I like Santorum but he’s not gotten much respect in the process to this point, for whatever reason. Not sure who I will vote for in primary. Here in NJ, it may already be decided.

Very impressive. Took Gregory head on and didn’t flinch.

Well put.

It doesn't matter.

Just support the conservative (Santorum, IMHO) and stay positive about his message.

I never cared much for endorsements from establishment talking heads. Not so early in the race - before a single state primary has been held.

In those caucus rooms in IA, no one wil be mentioning outside endorsements. It’s all about momentum and that’s the Tea pary’s strength. Look for more Perry folks and Bachmannites to move over to Santorum’s side of the rooms — increasing Santorum’s margin of victory over Willard the Lib and Paul the Nut.

Newt will be 4th in IA after $10 mil of mudslingling thrown at him. Which is fine enough to get him to SC & FL where he’ll finish off Willard once and for all!!!

Santorum is just doing another conservative (Newt) a big favor in IA.

And Willard has no time left in IA to run multi million dollar ads against Rick Jr. : )

A candidates endorsements are exactly the kind of thing I pay absolutely no attention to when making my selection. Many endorsements come with "strings" attached and are bought and paid for.

Endorsements don’t motivate most of us here, but the number of Romney endorsements is just overwhelming, an avalanche compared to the other candidates.

Another Huckabee is all Santorum will amount to be.

Santorum doesnt have much viability beyond Iowa. New Hampshire will surely reject him. And the only thing he’ll do in SC and FL is hurt Newt which in turn will help Romney. He has no organization in those two states and Romney has been building a ground game in Florida for months.
