They just announced that he is gone because of slacking ratings.

I heard rumors (maybe here) recently that Rush was moving to KNEW-910, as they are owned by his syndicator, Clear Channel. KSFO/KGO is now owned by someone else (brain fart at the moment, I forget who it is).

Missed all the big hoopla on the radio, as I start the work day at 0700, just when they were starting the real stuff and dumping Brian's hype. But if Mel's back in the early AM, all I can say is:

YEE-HAH!

Brian Sussman and Lee Rodgers before him were good, but they got so single-mindedly intense at times that I would have to shut them off a bit to decompress. Mel can be just as driven, but she always seems to know when to back off the fire and have a chuckle to balance.

I used to like Spencer Hughes -- he started at KSFO but lately he seems to have changed. I hope it is not him. But I've just heard him occasionally as a fill-in host.

Doubt it will be Spencer. He's got an afternoon show on Fox Satellite, and he took over for Dr. Bill Wattenburg on KGO recently.

Ms Morgan is great! and Sussman is good. There goes the show. But that's the way it is.

I wonder if they told him before he came to work -- a know that Lee Rodgers didn't know that it was his last show until 08:59:59 (almost). And I remember Ms Morgan once learned that she was welcomed at work until her key/card/ID had been deleted and she could not get into the building like at 0400 hours.

Well as long as J.D Hayworth is moving to the Bay Area -- at least to the extent that his interest will be local to the Bay Area -- it should work out.

I remember the time when KSFO started carrying a L.A. show (John and Ken, I think it was) -- an immediate bomb.

Yes it was. I remember though when Ms Morgan was let go OV's first comment as it was revealed that she was let go was, "Can I have her parking space?"

I think he was only half kidding -- they all know the kind of business they are in.
