I heard about 3 weeks ago that everybody at KGO was fired except Ron Owens because their parent company was having problems and the Salaries were way too high. As you know, this is KSFO's sister station (the call letter deficient station).

Looks like the steps a KSFO might have been the other high salaried shoe dropping since they're both owned by the same entity. Does that sound right to you???

Brian’s still there, but he came up with some stupid story about OV moving to Montana.

Now OV is having to repeatedly tell people that that was a total lie, and he was fired. He’s still living in Crescent City.

It does take a good antenna.

RUSH was not on AM 560 (KSFO) this morning. RUSH owns AM Radio.

For years Melanie was Chairman of Move America Forward, which supplies essentials to the troop serving in the Mideast.

They did several cross country tours to raise awareness of what our troops are doing for us, and raising money to send them things like beef jerky, coffee, silly string and other things to make them more comfortable and safe.

She now hosts, every year, a Troopathon to raise money for the troops.

I do know that the reason that Melanie was fired before was because of her value, which they didn't want to pay for anymore. And also because they were purging conservativeness as much as they could.

Interesting that they would keep Ron Owens, arguably one of the most liberal hosts there.

I imagine, and hope, that Melanie negotiated a good contract, because she is worth it.

And now without Rush, they are probably saving some money.

After she was fired from KSFO, Morgan moved to Washington, DC, to co-host the then-new America's Morning News with John McCaslin. She spent a year doing that show (heard on KSFO from 3:00-5:00am), and then left due to health issues (thyroid cancer). She moved back to CA at that time.

OV knew he was gone last week because they were talking about big changes coming this week. He took it like a man and gave his best right to the end. He's a pro.

Maybe he wasn't canned and is moving on to a better gig. I hope so.
