Hours after Mitt Romney eked out a win in the Iowa caucuses over former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, Gov. Deval Patrick called the victory for the former Bay State governor a win for the Tea Party.
Appearing on the CBS Early Show on Wednesday, Patrick defended President Barack Obama and called the Republican cast of challengers “interchangeable.”
“It’s a win last night for the Tea Party agenda. That was really the big winner. I mean the candidates in many respects are interchangeable because they’re all offering exactly the same plan, and that’s a plan that says that everybody in America is on his or her own and that’s a very, very different plan that the president has offered and that the Democratic Party stands for,” Patrick said during a five-minute spot on the national broadcast where he appeared remotely from Boston.

There is stupid, and then there is toopit.
Truly unbelievable, but at least it gives us an idea of how Obama, through his Mini Me, is going to play the game if Romney does, in fact, win the nomination. The Dems are going to try to pain Romney as a Tea Party guy.

Here is what they said in their fundraising letter......
1) The extremist Tea Party agenda won a clear victory. No matter who the Republicans nominate, we’ll be running against someone who has embraced that agenda in order to win — vowing to let Wall Street write its own rules, end Medicare as we know it, roll back gay rights, leave the troops in Iraq indefinitely, restrict a woman’s right to choose, and gut Social Security to pay for more tax cuts for millionaires and corporations.
2) We’ll be facing an onslaught of unprecedented spending from outside groups funded by corporations and anonymous donors. In Iowa alone, so-called “super PACs” spent $12.9 million on almost exclusively negative ads. These groups will turn their fire even more directly on us in the weeks ahead to prove that their candidate is the most anti-Obama.
This race is officially on — and if we want to win, the only way is to out-organize them on the ground.
So the path ahead for Romney — or whichever of the Republican candidates is going to emerge from this process — is sadly and starkly very clear: to run even further to the extreme right, and make even more dangerous promises that threaten not only the progress we’ve made but the fundamental fabric of American society.
We also know that candidates who take these extreme positions can, in the right circumstances, win not only a primary but also a general election in just about any state.
Just ask the Tea Party senators from Pennsylvania and Kentucky, and the Tea Party governors in Florida and Wisconsin.
Watching the circus on TV, it’s tempting to think it’s almost funny — but this is not a joke.

To the marxists radicals, anybody that is not on their side is a Tea Party guy. I guess in a way they are right.
Interesting perspective, and quite probably the best way to *understand* where these people get this crazy stuff.
That's like saying Deval Patrick's electoral victory was a win for the KKK.
Compelling stuff. Though I wonder why the DNC is so quick to slather the Tea Party on the GOP candidate, when the GOP can just as easily make the case for slathering Obama with the OWS movement. Clearly one of those protest movements is a little bit more "germy," say, than the other.
0bama’s campaign finance kid is essentially saying the same thing. At least we know they’re game plan.
1 Tea Party = bad.
2 Tie frontrunner or nominee to the Tea Party.
3 Candidate = bad
Confuse the message so badly that Tea Party gets lost (real goal)

I went on a website and made a comment, I don’t remember what, but it was not particularly important.
Next thing I know a person goes on there accusing me of being part of the Tea Party, and when I confronted her she insisted I was a Tea Party member, (which I am not). Took a lot of arguing at which point she stopped writing, unable to refute my points, mostly of which were ‘doesn’t mean I’m a Tea Party member’.
These people have no interest in the truth out there.
And for the record, I think a lot of people might thing Romney being connected with the Tea Party (which he isn’t ) would be a good thing. This might backfire on them.
The prospect of sending that woman to the Senate scares the everloving piss out of me. She is a communist's communist.

The guy’s a friend of Obama, affirmative action governor. The Kennedy tribe pulled the strings to put him in that office.
These people are nuts. They think an organization of hard-working men & women who want smaller goverment and lower taxes is “extremist.”

Deval’s “Miracle in Massachusetts’ is his Lt. Governor falling asleep at the wheel going 108 mph with no seat belt and surviving the crash.
Exactly. If Romney really was the Tea Party candidate, there would be no sense even holding a nomination process. He'd be the one. We here at FR would all be in the Romney camp.

Understandable when you have Tea Party candidates from Mass-of-2-$h!t$ like Scott Brown, who showed his true blue-state colors once in office.
