When Jimmy Carter offers guidance, any leader would be wise to pay attention. As just one example, Jimmy advised Yasser Arafat, and he remained a president for over ten years!

most importantly, if you want a second term, dont say things during your first term that might bring back memories of the malaise speech.
What? Oh, nevermind

Well look at it this way-we’re lucky FDR isnt around to give Obama advice on how to be a 4 Term president. Damn, we probably came much closer than Americans want to believe to becoming a full blown dictatorship in the 40s.
1) Make sure any military ‘operation’ in Iran succeeds without any c-130’s or helicopters left in the desert
2) Hope the USA upsets someone in an Olympic sport
3) Thank the GOP for running Romney
Huh?
1. [Then] Don’t look like a pussy when ‘attacked’ by a Bunny. [Now] Don’t look like a pussy when riding a girl’s bike.
2. [Then] Don’t admit ‘lusting’ in your heart. [Now] Don’t admit anything - lie, lie, lie.
It has been a long time since I have been able to laugh and cry at the same time.
FDR had a Depression and World War to help. We’re pretty much on the verge of both, again.
Next in line: Bill Clinton offers advice on marital fidelity.
Do not go anywhere where there might be a rabbit.
Maybe, but FDR at the time had the support of majority of Americans. Obama clearly does not have the majority of support from Americans. Also, before FDR it was tradition for presidents to serve no more than 2 terms, not Constitutional law. And Americans broke with tradition, which at the time was not the law of the land, because at the time they widely loved FDR. Depression may have helped, but world war didnt, seeing as how FDR won his 3rd term before the paerl Harbor attack. After FDR’s death it became the 22nd Ammendment, stating that presidents cannot serve more than 8 years, regardless of whether or not we are in a declared war. At the moment, Americans dont love Obama enough to even let him break tradition on this, much less Constitutional law.
The SCOTUS decision on Obamacare this summer will determine how willing the American public is to allow Constitutional defiance.
2. Do not screw up the economy (oops, too late)
3. Do not let Iran embarrass you (oops, getting to be too late)
Ok, well what exactly is the ruling and when are they expected to rule on it and what is the blatantly Unconstitutional part of it ?
We’ll have to wait to see the ruling and its fallout. The blantant part has been covered widely: The mandate.
blatant
....and in a related story - the designers of the Titanic are giving advice to Cunard on how to keep their cruise ships afloat.
We’re also lucky FDR had his health problems. Otherwise he could have been a 5 term president!!!
