Defeating Obama: Will it take a Brokered GOP Convention? Probably! (Vanity)

I'm thinking the only way we will be able to beat Obama will be to have a brokered GOP Convention and a "dark horse" candidate rise out of the ashes. Do I think it will happen? Heck no. So, we are, as my granny used to say: "In a mell of a hess". The GOP Candidates currently running, and the drop-out, Michele Bachmann, have beaten, bruised and bloodied each other so badly that we’re going to make doggone sure we send a nominee into the General Election damaged beyond repair; making victory easy for Obama. The Dems are loving our Primary Process. It should be called the Obituary Process since we're killing off all of our candidates one by one. Now RinoRom and Paully-Wally are aiming their guns on Rick Santorum. Friendly fire is just as deadly as enemy fire.

We are determined to pull defeat from the jaws of victory. And when that happens, we will have no one to blame but ourselves.

The GOP is too addled and divided to field a formidable and philosophically coherent opponent against him (Obama). ---"American Spectator": George Neumayr

That's what I'm talking about.

Well, we have a President who is not qualified either so WHO SHIVES A GIT? Hell, let’s just run an illegal immigrant for President; he’d have as much chance to win as the friggin’ meat-heads we have running now. TO HELL WITH ALL OF THEM!!!

No... the only choice we have is to call these cowards out at every opportunity and call, write and fax them. I am doing so now. We must purge the republican party of the progressive virus that infects her and it is a long term goal... we must primary every rino possible... it will take a half dozen elections to purge them all. We make it too painful to ignore us and we make certain that we call them out on every single instance of their bullsh!t.

Parties are always "addled" and "divided," but sometimes a superior candidate can manage to impress the voters and prevail over the others. That hasn't happened this time -- certainly not yet.

"Philosophical coherence"? Sometimes that works. Sometimes you can find it. Reagan, I guess. But it was more Carter's lousy performance that mattered.

You could have a very philosophically coherent candidate and still lose. Goldwater's a good example. Purism in itself doesn't open the door to the White House.

A contested convention would be a vast improvement over the dull assemblages that conventions have become in the last four decades.
