Love what he said when asked about earmarks. Said that as a senator of course you try to get money to go back to your state. The reason McCain became so hawkish on earmarks was because his record on the real problem, entitlements, was a disaster so he started harping on earmarks. HA!!!!!
Sweet! Someone needs to post a link.
To be fair, I don’t know what Congressman or Senator has a good record on entitlements, with Paul Ryan being a notable exception. Admittedly I don’t know much about Santorum’s record on this, but what did he do to reform entitlements while Senator? Did he help push the Bush Social Security reform plan in 2005 when most Republican Congresscritters and Senators just ran for cover? If he did, good for him. If not, then what grounds does he have for critiquing anyone else’s record on that?
Pretty lame explanation for both.
Doesn't want to make waves.
None of these politicians these days have a set.
Of course the story has gone away already. There was a 20 vote descrepancy. He won by 12, not lost by 8.
That’s why as much funding as possible should be local. If Vermont wants a maple syrup museum, Vermont should fund it, not send its senators to grub from the trough. The system as it’s set up just encourages profligate spending on local projects as all of us try frantically to get our fair share back. If we funded everything out of state and local budgets we’d be much more thoughtful.
2005 was a different world. This is what I call picking flyspecks out of pepper. Wake up. There are a few more pressing issues in 2012 than some ill-advised Bush fiasco seven years ago.
Not sure it’s a matter of Gonads. More it’s a matter of timing. Now aint the time.
voting for raising the debt limit multiple times is a problem. He is not conservative
Yeah he should man up like the Al Gore and the Democrats. File a lawsuit, demand recount after recount after recount, whine incessantly about how the election was stolen, throw a red flag and demand a review.
I find it refreshing. Move on to the next battle. The Iowa total was inconsequential as no matter the total he came out the winner. Now focus on New Hampshire get a 2nd place finish, fill your war chest and kick ass in the Palmetto state.
Yes, he did. My wife was watching and I went to watch (I rarely watch FOX anymore after Beck left, but I like Rick). Hannity’s “interview” was a million times better than O’Reilly’s “interview” the other night. Given the magnitude of what had just transpired in Iowa, I can say O’Reilly’s “interview” was THE WORST INTERVIEW I have ever seen in the history of politics.
However, if it was a democrat can you believe how they would be crying.
I like Santorum. Not sure he can meke it. But the best VP canidate there is.
It appears it will now be a level playing field in SC.
Rick will have the money to compete.
If the goal is to stop Willard, then who the hell is conservative? We’re left with the two Rick’s and Newt.
Unless Sarah jumps in, right now this “Rick” is the firewall. Mitt breaks out of SC with three wins and it’s a short primary season and a long campaign one for the conservative side.
This Ivory soap 99 and 99/100th percent pure insanity is going to surely lead us to defeat and I’m not finished with my SHTF prep.
Rick Santorum? What a statist nobody frat-boy type. The last time he ran in a purple state he lost by 18%. An empty suit version of Romney (who I will hold my nose when I vote for him in December).
Easily the worst repub in this field. Less charismatic than even Bachmann.
To each his own.
You have a point. He has never been in my top choices but may be our last. I don’t see Perry regaining ground and I’m not a fan of his version of the Dream Act. Newt has flamed out. I don’t like the scorched earth napalming of the field, unless he knows he has no chance and is trying to open the door for a fresh face.
That type of approach got us the baby socialist Bush when Alan Keyes was the better candidate in 2000....I want someone with a proven track record of conservative voting and a liberty minded agenda. When we have freedom and liberty...the rest will fall in place
Where are they? I don’t see them on the ballot. You get them on the 2012 ballot, this pivotal election and we’ll see then. For now this is our choice.
Allen Keyes? Allen West maybe..
