The G.O.P.’s ‘Black People’ Platform (Slimes BLOW Alert)
New York Times ^ | January 6, 2012 | The Inimitable CHARLES M. BLOW

Posted on 01/07/2012 7:10:57 PM PST by lbryce

The inimitable, quintessentially monikered CHARLES M. BLOW

That didn't take long.

As we’ve gotten around to casting votes to select a Republican presidential nominee, the antiblack rhetoric has taken center stage.

You just have to love (and despise) this kind of predictability.

On Sunday, Rick “The Rooster” Santorum, campaigning in Iowa, said what sounded like “I don’t want to make black people’s lives better by giving them somebody else’s money. I want to give them the opportunity to go out and earn the money.” At first, he offered a nondenial that suggested that the comment might have been out of context. Now he’s saying that he didn’t say “black people” at all but that he “started to say a word” and then “sort of mumbled it and changed my thought.”

(Pause as I look askance and hum an incredulous, “Uh huh.”)

Newton Leroy Gingrich has been calling President Obama “the best food stamp president” for months, but after plummeting in the polls and finishing fourth in Iowa, he must have decided that this approach was too subtle. So, on Thursday in New Hampshire, he sharpened the shiv and dug it in deeper, saying, “I’m prepared, if the N.A.A.C.P. invites me, I’ll go to their convention and talk about why the African-American community should demand paychecks and not be satisfied with food stamps.” On Friday, Gingrich defended himself, as usual, by insisting that exactly what he said wasn’t exactly what he said. He was advocating for African-Americans, not disparaging them.

“Uh huh.”

The comments from Santorum and Gingrich came after a renewed exploration of Ron Paul’s controversial newsletters, one of which said in June 1992 about the Los Angeles riots:

It doesn't take much to rattle the mainstream, black political cage. The utter godforsaken irony is that with these folks, the truth is what rattles them more than anything else. Can you imagine?

The G.O.P.’s ‘Black People’ platform goes by the secret code as the G.O.P.'s Everybody, All inclsuive, Meritocratic Platform.

Hope the lettering under Blow's image is displayed in the pink, as intended.

Look at this guys picture, Nuff said.

“I want to give them the opportunity to go out and earn the money.”

What is wrong with that statement?

Why does the opportunity to go out and earn their money instead of giving them somebody else’s money frighten them so badly.

Blow is nothing more than another sellout, who believed in the myth that is Barrack Obama and now wants to complain because others are exposing his record of broken promises and complete failure.

Blow doesn’t care about black people, he’s just using the race card to intimidate people into voting for Obama. It’s just another way of telling us we’re racists if we vote for the Republican instead of Obama.

Here’s a clue, Blow. Very few people will be voting against Obama because he’s black. We’re voting against him because he’s incompetent and is destroying the country we love.

What Santorum said is muffled and unintelligible in the video. Mr. Blow Hard took it as “black” and might not even have listened to the original video but accepted the meme from some other speculative yacker.

Kind of like the story in the NY slimes about the Obama Campaign telling “white blue collar workers” would not be sought out in the election, only blacks, poor, and college educated professors!

So the real racist, hate filled, prejudicial party candidate in the current race is Obama and the dummycrat party!

Even the old media made prejudicial statements about the Iowa Caucasus being too white, too religious, and did not reflect America!

The NY slimes=socialist=dummycrat party=irrelevancy! The utter hypocrisy of the old media attempting to take out another Republican candidate using the race card is so blatantly obvious that a child could spot it a mile away!

And how about those comments after this article??? Anyone who thinks the Slimes is not filtering out 99% of replies from people that do NOT hate Republicans is crazy!

Were you watching the CBS Morning Show when Gingrich actually said: “I’m prepared, if the N.A.A.C.P. invites me, I’ll go to their convention and talk about why the African-American community should demand paychecks and not be satisfied with food stamps.”?

Well, I happened to be watching that interview, because I wanted to see Gingrich as either he, Romney, or Santorum will likely be the Republican presidential nominee. And the way that statement came across was about as condescending, patronizing, and insulting to a group as any statement I have ever heard uttered.

You ask in your post: “How could anyone take that in a bad way”?

My question would be, how could anybody read those words and not see that any member of the targeted group would see that as Gingrich telling them that he thinks the African-American Community would rather take “food stamps” than go to work?

Yep.

Where there's a shell, there's a way.

25 years ago, we had Ronald Reagan, Johnny Cash, and Bob Hope.
Today we have Obama, no cash, and no hope!

If you can't appreciate the pure beauty of the violin after hearing this, something's wrong with your ears.

Or you can get raw with these strings.

How about this gamechanger from America's Got Talent (which they SHOULD have won).

And finally, this, dedicated to the one and only rdb2. His time may be short.

Either way, the violin is sweet yet LETHAL.

Do it!

Blow doesn't care much about the truth, either.

Santorum never said "black" in front of "peoples' lives". The video of the event proves it.

CBS lied when they inserted "black" into the paragraph and headlined an article about it.

Since being called on it, CBS hasn't apologized or issued a correction. They did, however, edit the article to read "I don't want to make (sic) peoples' lives...".

Nevertheless, the MSM willfully quotes what they know to be a word that was never spoken.

What question was Newt responding to on the Early Show? What was the context that lead him to respond with his statement, which IMHO is absolutely spot on.

Last time I checked, the Black Community had a 16% Unemployment Rate. Even the latest Obama cooked numbers didn't change that. Looks like Obama is screwing Blacks more that Newt could ever do.

I guess I didn't hear it the way you did because I'm just one of those Blue Collar Crackers that Obama won't be targeting for support in his reelection. (OR) you are absolutely correct and Newt is a Bigot.

99% of blacks vote color not charactor. Racism lives and thrives in the black community because it’s a method and a mindset imbedded by them and the liberals to control the majority

What's more bizarre than the article are the comments by the Moonbat Lib readers of the NY Slimes which followed.

Many are by your typical NY white libs who are ashamed because of their 'white privilege' and see all in the GOP are racists. Then there was the blacks who see racism behind every shadow so agree with this nonsense of an 'article' 100% x102. Lastly I found two comments by some white Conservatives who tried the argument that a Job is better than Food Stamps and a government nanny.

Those comments were not well received as naturally, they were written by Racists.
