"a modeling study" means creative statistics
aka "tell me what you want for the result"
Man is sooooo vain!!

Oh my, the world is going to die!
Quick,,, give me your money.

We have been seeing mountain lions in upper Il. and Ia. for several years now. I was with a group that was discussing this and some lib puts on the usual “of course, dumb ass conservative” act and arrogantly tells us that they are moving south because of global warming. South?

Thank goodness dinosaurs didn't survive.
I'm still wondering why we need condors??? They spent tons of money to breed and get these little turds into the universe.
I like the Happy Feet story the best...the Penguin they nurtured then shoved into the ocean where he was apparently gobbled up within a few hours.
The whole thing was dumb but I'm sure the real story was whether or not he could find his way and it was just a little "radar" test. Whoops

We know for a fact that the world was warmer 1000 years ago than it is today.
That simple fact tells me that I just don't need to care about this stuff.

Obviously, the biggest threat to species is simply space. Humans and their stuff take up more and more space. There will be species extinctions because of this. As long as humans continue to multiply, it cannot be avoided, only delayed. This has nothing to do with climate change.
To: NormsRevenge
Humbug. More "math models" by college perfessers who don't want to get their hands dirty by going out into the real world and gathering real data.
To: NormsRevenge
Wow! All these millions of species have existed unchanged and unmoved since the beginning of time, and now all of a sudden, they are becoming extinct and have begun migrating. Well, I guess it is 2012. We’re all doomed.

Hopefully one of those doomed species is the democrat.

So, how many new species eventually emerge?

I would probably go to a zoo to see the last surviving socialist or at least click on a link to view a video.

The Beverly Caribou herd was thought to have disappeared by climate scientists, but.....
http://www.ctv.ca/CTVNews/TopStories/20111120/herd-of-saskatchewan-caribou-located-111120/
Did they listen to the locals who said:
“While scientists are excited, aboriginal elders are more likely to shrug.
Said Campbell: “When the initial alarm bells were ringing about the Beverly herd disappearing, right away we went in to talk to the communities and they said: ‘No, no, no. These caribou have moved north and we've been told by our elders that they do that.”’
Thompson heard — the same.
“Many of the community people reported that elders think this is nothing new. Caribou move.”
Climate scientists jumped all over this as further proof of AGW.....because the models say so.....no need to do field research.
Bees were disappearing due to AGW, NOW:
http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/sideshow/parasite-turns-honey-bees-zombies-212258832.html
Frogs were another AGW hit, until......re-searcher’s hygiene protocols were observed transporting fungi around the world via their research field expeditions. There is no science amongst the AGW community...only reaction.

Already evidence suggests that species have begun to migrate out of ranges made inhospitable by climate change and into newly hospitable territory.
With rent support and food stamps, this wouldn't happen.

Most animals don’t own a home. They don’t even rent. They are probably fairly nomadic and follow their food sources. Am I wrong?

So much has happened with the animals due to the climate change. Much has been missed as some bio-diverse areas were poorly studied. My parents had a small farm in Olympia Washington and my dad kept weather records for 3o years and noted the summers getting hotter and the tomatoes ripening before the 1st frost for the last 10 years they lived there. My dad is a Dr of Chemistry and does research so he knows how to measure and record data - Where I work we keep close track of the weather at it is very important data for our equipment testing and we can see the summer temps higher and other strange weather items. Something is happening - cause man or nature or both still needs to be determined - but I do believe we should do something to reduce the impact by Man. I do my part everyday - drive a vehicle that gets over 40 mpg - have for 30 plus years. Recycle everything I can - have for over 30 years. Live simple and love the outdoors. I feel bad for people that have never heard the song of the warbler, enjoyed the antics of a humming bird or laughed at the wobbly fawn.

As climate change progresses, the planet may lose more plant and animal species than predicted, a new modeling study suggests.Think of it as evolution in action.
