Tuesday’s New Hampshire primary looms large on the political horizon. In the midst of lively public debates over taxes, jobs, the national debt and similarly important questions related to the future vitality of our nation, a different kind of question continues to privately occupy the minds of some prospective voters: Can I vote for a Mormon?

... If an unbeliever such as Jefferson or non-churchman like Lincoln can serve brilliantly as president, then America should stand — in an intolerant world characterized all too frequently by religious persecution — as a stirring example of welcoming hospitality for highly qualified men and women of good will seeking the nation’s highest office. ...

“The real question is, “Can I vote for a Liberal?”

The answer is not just no but HELL NO! Mitt Romney and everyone supporting him can go fornicate themselves with a cactus!”

Now don’t hold back, there. Tell us what you really think of Liberals & Mittens.

“Perhaps Earth is the planet upon which Romney is supposed to achieve Mormon “God” status.”

Too late - Bammy beat him to it.

Sorry, if the nominated R candidate doesn’t represent the interests of the base, it is the party’s fault they ran a lemon.

Correct-answer bump.

The GOP Establishment are snobs. They'd rather lose the White House and the country to Marxists, than nominate and elect a social nobody who wasn't a legacy graduate of an Ivy League school.

Never, ever, tolerate a deceiver much less make him the President.

Jesus himself said there is no marriage in heaven.

Mark 12:25
When the dead rise, they will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven.

And then St. Paul also said...

Romans 7:1-2
Do you not know, brothers and sisters—for I am speaking to those who know the law—that the law has authority over someone only as long as that person lives?
For example, by law a married woman is bound to her husband as long as he is alive, but if her husband dies, she is released from the law that binds her to him.

Yes; these verses ARE in EVERY MORMON's bible; but it is OBVIOUS that the MORMON hierarchy has told the members that they do NOT mean what they plainly say.

Which is why the LDS twist that verse and say it means that in order to be married in Heaven, they must be married here on earth in their Temples.

Twist (redefine) that one and IGNORE the ones in Romans.

FR MORMONs:

Do you want to explain just HOW you folks view these verses?

If it comes down to voting for a Mormon or a Muslim, then I am with Joseph Smith.

Well, thank you, at least, for stating your commitment to Joseph Smith so accurately and so succinctly.

You're right...at least in where you "wind up."

You're wrong...if you want to tout the permanent demise of the GOP.

A "Joseph Smith" led GOP is a GOP in which Evangelicals will permanently abandon...in droves.

And Evangelicals were 34% of the ENTIRE vote in 2010. (Not just 34% of the GOP...but the whole vote)

Well Jesus said it pretty well.When the dead rise, they will neither marry nor be given in marriage;
they will be like the angels in heaven.

But Andrew Marvell said it better
The grave's a fine and private place,
But none I think do there embrace.

In regard to Mormons and the Bible: The Mormons definitely have the Bible. But then, so do the Muslims. The Muslims consider themselves the Chosen People of the OT, through Hagar and Ishmael. They also have the NT, considering JC as a Great Prophet ... nothing like ole Mo, (MPBUH)... but really big-time.

There are many embarrassing similarities between Mormonism and Islam, then again both are syncretic creeds ... made up of theological bits and pieces. In Islam's case, a melange of Judaism, Christianity, and animism; in The LSD's case, a potpourri of Christianity, OT Judaism, AND Islam, with a little Wicca thrown in. Add a soupcon of POP-PSYCH, SCI-FI and Jung ... and voila, Scientology!

But then, Henry VIII is as radical as I am willing to go!

If it is not the race between the Muslim or a Mormon, then it would be between a Muslim and a Kook, a Curmudgeon, a specter Compromiser or another Jack-Mormon.
