You'll need to be careful when playing with these black and white kittens - because they have an extra 18 toes (and claws) between them.
Fred and Ned are known as polydactyl cats. While most felines have 18 toes, Fred has an extra 10 digits and Ned has eight.
The four-month-old pair are currently being looked after by Cats Protection in Gosport, Hampshire.

I once had a cat that had all kinds of extra toes. Great cat! Her name was “Tootsie”.
Just wait till cats start using their thumbs.....
I have been told that some polydactyl kitties use their extra toes somewhat like an opposable thumb.

I've long been convinced that my cat would kill me if she could, but is merely unable.
Thumbs would probably help her finally get the job done.
She would not welcome the joy of working through all those extra ones.........
I lost my old friend Goosecat Saturday morning. He was getting really frail, not eating or drinking, and I was feeding him with an eyedropper when he had a massive heart attack in my arms. I was thankful he did not die alone, but I miss that old guy so much. I lost his lifetime buddy, Grookedtail last thanksgiving. I guess it’s time for us oldtimers to move along ...

Cute kitties....they just KNOW they are special.
Losing your precious kitty is an awful thing. A few days after Christmas, my 8 year old inside cat got out when the painter left the door open. We didn’t know she was gone for hours. Nobody has seen her since. She has never been outside the house and we have looked all over the neighborhood with no luck. I keep hoping she can find her way back.

I lost my darling Miss Peach after 16 years on April 30 of this year. I looked for a special kitten because I knew my other tuxedo would not take an older one.
I deliver pizza at night to the Amish. There was this one place that had one tiny kitten, black and white, so dirty, so thin. I did not take her because I thought she was too far gone. They ordered pizza again two weeks later. I cringed. Would that kitten still be there. They said they wanted to get rid of it as they had too many and the other two had been stepped on by horses and died. The fourth one, an orange Manx tom was huge and well fed.
There she was staring at the house and not me. I didn't understand it. So when she saw me she ran up to the door of the house with me. I asked if she was still available. Well yes, but I didn't think I could take her on the pizza run.
I asked if I could come and get her the next day, but they said they were going to be gone.......
..... so I just stuffed her in my coat and hopped back in the car. I took her because she was still with us and she had not grown one bit in those two weeks. She is a poly-dactyl kitten with a white moustache. I'll try to get a picture of her. First trip to the vet she weighed one pound and two ounces.
Second trip to the vet she weighs 4 1/2 pounds. I never thought a kitten could be so much fun.
She is partially deaf due to ear mites. Vet seems to think we are down to only bacteria and yeast now. But she is putting on muscle and playing every day and responding to my voice.
She is Mittens and has two extra toes and claws on the front only. When she washes her face she runs the risk of scratching her eye. I have medicine for that too.
