Video: Assad Ignores the World, Blames ‘Foreign Conspiracy’

Syrian President Bashar Assad dug himself deeper in a hole Tuesday, stating in a “major” speech that the “people” are behind him and blaming a “foreign conspiracy” for the slaughter of protesters.

He told his country that “nobody is deceived anymore” by the alleged conspiracy, which he vowed will fail.

Echoing the cries of Hosni Mubarak before he was ousted and of Muammar Qaddafi before he was killed, Assad added, "When I leave this post, it will be also based upon the people's wishes.”

Perhaps looking ahead at sharing the fate of Mubarak, who is being tried for murdering more than 800 protesters last year, Assad said there is overwhelming evidence to prove that the unrest is being fueled by the alleged foreign conspiracy.

Attention: Syrian protesters. You are being accused of collaborating with Israel by uniformed criminals who are only too happy to beat you, kill you, rape your wives and daughters. Contact us. At this juncture, you do not have to worry about your dishonor for collaborating with Joooz! You are being accused anyway by people with no honor or decency as they beat you on the ground with your hands tied. Do it. "Collaborate" with Israel. Unless Assad has done something to seriously offend his Syrian masters, I doubt very seriously if he will fall. Assad works for Iran, Obama works with Iran (fellow tribesmen) — so don’t expect any US drones to be flying over anytime soon.
