Posted on 01/10/2012 1:00:04 PM PST by Maceman
Results as of 3:42pm.
It’s close to what I hope, and that is Romney winning by less than 10%. If so, that would be the second race where he failed to live up to expectations.
Only 20 percent of NH is conservative; sounds about right, Pat Buchanan got, I beleive, 26 percent in 1996. I would expect Perry to finish last.
In a weird way, I’m rooting for Paul or Huntsman...just so Romney doesn’t win big.
Reverse Santorum and Perry’s..and it looks correct up in LIBERAL Hampshire.
Btw, just out:
2012 Republican Presidential Nomination Reuters/Ipsos
Romney 30, GINGRICH 20, Santorum 13, Ron Paul 16, Spoiler Perry 7, Hunts 3
Perry had his run, I think he should leave now and help the conservative movement.
Before this thread gets rolling; take a look at the actual vote totals at the link...
I would prefer Huntsman to Romney. If Huntsman were to win, Romney would be done. Then Newt would probably win SC and Florida.
Looks like nice polling results. Hope the real vote pans out that way.
BTW, the results posted so far consist of only 19 votes cast. So, nothing to read into too deeply IMO.
Romney has 7 votes and Paul 5. These are hardly "election results".
whoop de doo....all of 19 votes counted so far....
Precincts are already reporting while polls are open? Doesn’t that seem a bit unusual?
Exactly...this is NOT 1% of the vote...these are probably the combined vote totals from Dixville Notch and Hart’s Location from very early this morning...
Sounds like it's the now-closed precincts from early AM.
Ah, that's right... they have some tradition of early reporting.
Let’s hope Huntsman does well tonight and stays in to be to Willard what Perry is to Newt. A spoiler.
Also just in:
General Election: Romney vs. Obama Reuters/Ipsos
Obama 48, Romney 43 Obama +5
I hope Paul wins it, and I’m not for Paul.
I read on the internet they are actually getting significant numbers of people writing in “obama” in NH.
It would be ironic if Huntsman, of all people, broke out of the pack and won.
Huntsman is really coming on. I hope he passes Paul and takes second with like 25% and Willard gets 30% or less. I hope Paul falls off the face of the earth, cause it looks like Newt and Santorum might tie for fourth in the low teens.
I don’t think anyone is ‘writing in’ Obama...Democrats have a primary today, as well. 75,000 are expected to cast a vote for Obama in Red Hampshire today...
Sad, the top three vote getter's are a 2 RINO's and a KOOK. Only 11 percent of voters so far voted for anybody resembling a conservative.
Who’s he talking about? McGovern?
What I read this morning said they were getting obama votes in the republican primary.
Those results above show 104%. I think they are wrong.
I had a couple of NH family members break for Huntsman today.
You’re right. New Hampshire folks always give 110%!
Population acc to Wikipedia
Dixville Notch: 75
Hart’s Location: 41
How many are of voting age, how many voted...nowhere near 1 per cent.
Really? Nothing surprises me with the shenanigans around here...guess we'll know for sure in a few hours.
I hope Santorum stays at zero, then maybe he will drop out and we can stop Romney in South Carolina without a divided conservative base.
Dunno why an old song is running through my head today
A month of nights, a year of days,
Fifteen debates as my eyes glaze;
I get depressed as the polls come in
And I just cast my vote to the wind.
Mitt shifts his course along the breeze;
He hopes for faulty memories.
The empty mind is his best friend,
And I just cast my vote to the wind...
Something to ponder.
There are over 300 million people in America.
It is possible that in 2012 out of all those people the choice that American may have to be their President could end up being Barack Obama or Ron Paul.
That thought should scare any sane person shitless!

The polls are still open. Except for the odd little places that vote, and report results, early in the day, NO votes have been tallied.
The 1% of precincts is clearly a numerical error; if the results are from 2 little towns, the real number of precincts is less than 1%. Some software in the mix is incapable of expressing numbers between 0% and 1%.
When I voted today, there were 30 names on the Republican ballot. That’s more than the number of voters in Dixville Notch. If nobody voted for candidate #23 in Dixville Notch, it tells us NOTHING about the number of votes he’ll get statewide.
In short, this data is meaninless for now.
This was expected, don’t be too glum.
I wonder if you and I are the only two people on this site who know this song.
Hart's Location Dixville Notch: Romney 5 2 Paul 4 2 Huntsman 2 1 Perry 1 0 Gingrich 1 1 Obama 3
Listening to the local call in shows this morning, I heard a lot of folks calling in saying they voted for Ron Paul as a protest against the poor field of candidates and because they wanted radical change.
Ron Paul has a lot of supporters out this morning, a lot of signs, a lot of advertising.
For what it’s worth, I did not vote for Paul or Romney.
Santorum ain’t dropping out until after Florida.
He won Iowa.
If Newt wants to be the ‘conservative’ nominee, he’s going to have to earn it.
Second, New Hampshire is a blue state in a blue region of the country, with only 4 electoral votes. Notice the above mentioned pollsters never ask how a primary vote effects their vote.
Third, any pundit who has a candidate is finished is a liar. Santorum was able tie with Romney after being outspent nearly 7:1. Even though the media claims they don't matter. Paul's army of volunteers was able to put him in double digits in Iowa and will make him competitive for some time.
The media will cheerlead for whoever they think will buy the most ads. Most of them will also cheerlead for who they think Obama can beat. We have to use the internet, door to door, radio, and kitchen table discussions to bypass the lying media.
Seriously N00B you need a new handle. Cain quit remember ?
Yeah, because NH voters speak for me... um no. This whole early primary process is beginning to reek of special interests groups. Where in the constitution does any one state get to pick Presidents? Just another money grabbing, socialist scheme invented by folks who act like first graders. Some of the Iowa snobbery, demanding attention, getting upset when they didn’t get their way. Either it should rotate on a set schedule or be scrapped as an interference in the process. What a buncha demanding first graders. /rant.
ditto to your rant!
This is nothing to this point. It’s based on 19 votes total.
Maybe later on tonight it will have more meaning...and I am sure Santorum and Newt will gain...and at least Paul will fall off some if not Huntsman and Romney too.
Santorum aint dropping out until after Florida.
He won Iowa.
I’ve heard rumors to that effect, could you give a link showing that Santorum has officially won Iowa? I have asked you this once before, within the past hour or so and I really don’t want to look like I am stalking you from thread to thread saying the same thing but to be fair, you didn’t answer me the first time.
Please tell me upon what you are basing this “Santorum won Iowa” point please.
Well, last I’ve checked the certified results haven’t been released yet.
I’ve seen reports of discreprencies about 2x the size of Mitt’s 8 vote ‘victory’ in the primary.
And no, I wouldn’t accuse you of stalking. It’s an honest question.
Santorum won Iowa. He defeated Newt and tied with Mitt. That’s enough to carry him through to Florida. Newt has to win in SC.
I’ve been supportive of Santorum and I hope he does win Iowa.
If Romney were the winner, they would have released the votes already.
That they’ve waited until AFTER NH, is evidence to me that Santorum won.
We’ll find out on page 52 though.
