The nanny state strikes again. Having five beers during an afternoon of football is not "binge" drinking.

The media is up your butt about everything. Don’t drink whole milk, eat only 3 oz of red meat for dinner, only eat wheat bread, don’t smell second hand smoke, use sunblock 365 days a year, drink a gallon of water a day, take supplements, don’t take supplements, drink coffee, don’t drink coffee, drink only green tea, drink black tea, don’t ever drink tea..... After this rant, I need a DRINK!

"Binge drinking is defined by the CDC as consuming five or more drinks for men and four or more drinks for women on a single occasion."

Is a day considered a single occasion?

Back in my, errr, ‘chemically enhanced’ days, eight drinks was not a binge - it was a normal thursday night...

A binge was when ya left work in Cleveland Friday afternoon, and woke up in a park in Topeka the following Tuesday....

more than 38 million Americans binge drink four times a month—consuming an average of eight drinks each time.

An average of eight drinks at a time?? Oh my!

But the disturbing data found that the highest number of drinks consumed per occasion is by people living just above or below the poverty line, with eight to nine drinks per occasion.

Really?? The highest? The highest number of drinks consumed is precisely the average number of drinks consumed, or perhaps just one more than the average?? SHOCKING!!

How can you play football after 5 beers? Three was always my limit before a game. Oh, and a shot or two at halftime so I didn’t have to listen to the coach rant and rave about the “bunch of drunks I have for a football team.”

Ummm Consuming 8 beers at one time is called “Getting Drunk” or in the Obama Presidency dealing with a bad situation. They sure wouldn’t understand the concept of Sippin’ Whiskey....

“The frequency of binge drinking is higher in households with an income of $75,000 or more.”

How do they know? Is the gov tracking alcohol purchases via debit card purchases?

Why can these utter asses at the CDC do something that is actually meaningful in combatting emerging diseases?
Instead they built themselves a spa in Atlanta full of meditation rooms, quiet rooms, saunas, swimming pools.

The CDC is a painful hackerama joke from hell! They care about you about as much as they work.
That would be “Not at all”.

This country is turning into a Banana Republic replete with third world country diseases and the CDC is concerned about College kids doing what College kids have always done!
Puhleeze!

If the CDC wants to actually be useful why don’t they teach these public school morons to count “heads and names”.
That way at least they might remember not to be so Narcissitic and make sure their “friends” come home with them safely.

My friends and pals always made sure everyone got “home”.

These dweebs , The CDC and the Colleges are so freakin STOOPID!

Sorry for the rant!!!!
It’s “off” now!

Agreed.

The CDC establiched the criteria to create a problem not address it.

People who buy a bottle of wine for Saturday night dinner are now binge drinkers????

5 drinks makes you a binge drinker??

one football game is about 2 hours long, or 120 minutes.

one light beer every 24 minutes??

what a load of useless crap designed to try and ‘nudge’ us into feeling guilty of something.

get stuffed
