I don’t see Newt playing to win. I don’t see the crowds embracing Santorum. I think I’ll stick with Perry.

I’m sorry, but the “vulture capital” remark, right out of the progressive/liberal class warfare playbook, has ruined me on Perry....and, Gingrich!

I realize that redstate.com’s Erick Erickson continues to stick by him, that South Carolina is Perry’s state and that he has re-tooled his staff.

FALSE! South Carolina is Romney's state because it has an open primary where democrats can and will crossover to help Romney.

People need to stop playing so much emphasis on SC. It's going to help Romney and the MSM is going to use it as an excuse to promote Romney elsewhere. I still don't know why Perry and Gingrich act like SC is so damned important, because it's not. The Democrats will gladly abuse an open primary to help whoever they think Obama can most easily defeat.

In all honesty, he should have displayed the same responsibility that Ms. Bachmann displayed in bowing out then.

Speaking of Perry and Bachman, is it just me, or did it seem rude of Rick Perry to announce his candidacy on the day of Michelle Bachman Ames Straw Poll win?

She worked very hard for it, and had a well deserved win. Rick Perry showed no respect with his “clever” timing...

I was going to support Palin, she didn’t run (largely the reason for the trouble we are in). I was going to support Cain, he had a closet full of sex scandals. I was going to support Perry, he was unable to handle a debate. I am now going with Santorum, and I am done switching my support until primary is over. Newt is good on most issues, but the sanctity of marriage is very close to my heart and a serial adulterer with two divorces cannot speak authoritatively on the matter.

So that is that.

When Perry just did NOT gain traction, I thought I would reluctantly go to Santorum. But Santorum seemed whack! No way.

So I am back to Perry.

In the end. I vote for whoever the nominee is because literally ANYONE is better than Obama. Anyone!

On second thought; it ain’t ova till MO sings.

Perry COULD place first or second in SC.If he doesn’t then he is done.

Romney is not “inevitable”. NH, if anything, was not good news for Mittens. 40% of the vote is hardly a mandate. Expecially considering that the rube Paul wasn’t far behind. Unless people like this writer begin to see the larger picture the Mittster and the RINO-led, demrat-controlled GOP will pull this sham off.

Romney is in for a run of primary losses. I don’t see any friendly territory for him outside New England. It’s time for Gingrich and Perry to do the country a favor and make way for the Conservative Santorum. If we rally around him early and in strength the GOP will have to decide if it wants to regain its opposition party (to the demrat party) status or openly become an arm of the demrat party.

“Unfortunately, he has instead seemed aloof, asleep and shallow in debates.”

It only took this CLOWN 6 months to figure out what people here in Texas have known for over a decade...and his words apply to a LOT MORE than a few debates.

LOL!

The time for traditional conservatives to coalesce around one candidate was about 4-6 months ago. At this point, the nomination is going to be run like a marathon and only two candidates have the resources to stay in it for the long haul: mittens and Ron Paul.

I doubt that any of the remaining candidates will pull out before Florida. They’ll just continue to split the anti-mittens vote 5 ways.

First half-dozen grafs, great. Then Griffin goes off the deep end, and then made it worse by saying, well, we need to add Piffle's 5% to somebody -- and I needn't even mention it doesn't work that way -- because Griffin yobs the conclusion by splitting the baby: "Santorum and Gingrich are both infinitely better than Romney and a two-man race will make it easier for a victor to emerge." Uh, which two-man race, genius?

Santorum on Rush:

“and you know that I was a leader on welfare reform. I was the guy that led the charge in the US Senate and actually wrote the bill when I was in the House. I was the guy that actually helped end the federal entitlement.”

I am with Perry until he drops out. If that happens. I will support Santorum. If Rick S proceeds to drop out, I will be lost and have to re-examine every candidate.

People, please take note; at this point it’s pointless to obsess on Perry dropping out or whatever he does...notice the true, significant numerical split is between Gingrich and Santorum. They are almost evenly splitting it. Perry is barely registering.

Now he is making some noise, getting his points out, participating in the free for all, yes, but in actual votes...according to polls and so far in Iowa and NH, he’s so far down the list he isn’t impacting it votewise.

If he actually finishes very low in SC, would people STILL obsess that he should get out and throw his support to another? Why? What difference would that make, until he pulls enough to become a significant factor??

Also, you cannot make Perry supporters choose either your chosen candidate or choose the one Perry might endorse. These people are not going to follow anyone’s dictates, even his. Nor, if Perry got out, could he make Santorum or Newt get out.

Right now he’s making his points and they are points that need to be made. In most instances they are in the right direction on the right agenda.

And he doesn’t back down, if you’ll notice.

I pray he gets going in SC and FL, but if not, one thing he can always say is, people and businesses, come to Texas. I tried to get the Texas Way to become America’s way, but I was passed over in favor of others. But Texas is still here and I’m still here, ya’ll come on down.

I’m with Newt because Bachmann and Cain dropped out. I like Santorum and I am on his ping list. Both Newt and Santorum are good guys. But I liked what Newt was saying on Fox News against the Establishment.

While not a fan of SOPA, I believe it will die out long before the Election. But I was a bit unhappy Santorum supports the legislation. However, which ever of the two guys does the best in South Carolina and Florida, I’ll support.

By the time the race gets to my state, which is doing a caucus, it will be two months from now. I don’t know. What I do know is that I feel that the establishment needs to be defeated.

I was also lukewarm with Gingrich back when he was at 4% and I thought either Cain or Bachmann would win the nomination. I also then thought Palin would enter but she chickened out.

So now the choices are slim. I am hoping both Santorum and Newt do well in South Carolina.

After it is all said and done folks. If Romney has won the nomination, I’ll still be bashing him. And there will be no choice since I don’t want or like Romney’s positions, but to pick a third party candidate. Obama and Romney will be the same thing so I’ll take someone who I agree with more.

So that is where I am at. I mostly wanted Paul Ryan, Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain or Sarah Palin to win the nomination and none of them will.

But we still have a chance for a better candidate than Romney.

I would have added DeMint to my list of candidates I wanted. But I am confused on him saying Romney will Win South Carolina or something the other day. If he is for Romney he lost me for now.
