Bolton "would seriously consider serving" in DoD under Ron Paul
Washington Post ^ | 01/10/2011 | Allen McDuffee

In an apparent change of heart, former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton said he would “seriously consider” serving under Ron Paul after previously saying that Paul’s foreign policy is worse than President Obama’s.

On Fox Business Channel’s Freedom Watch with Judge Andrew Napolitano, Bolton said “I would seriously consider serving in a Department of Defense under Ron Paul, if asked,” according to Napolitano’s Twitter and Facebook accounts.

Just two weeks ago, Bolton said on Sean Hannity’s Fox News show that Ron Paul’s foreign policy is “worse than the Obama administration.”

“That’s why I think the debate on the Republican side is so important and why when I see — I have to be candid — a candidate like Ron Paul whose foreign policy is, if anything, worse than the Obama administration apparently leading in Iowa according to some polls, it just gives me great concern,” Bolton said.

A request for comment has been submitted to Bolton.

Update 11:24: Bolton emails: “Although the likelihood of such a scenario is remote, I would serve to try to persuade Ron Paul toward a more realistic posture in defending the United States and its worldwide interests.”

Bolton says he’d serve as Paul’s DOD. He said he’d serve as Newt’s SOS. Then he endorses Romney. I guess all he’s got left is to say he’d love to work on obama’s campaign.

In the event that Obama gets reelected, Bolton is placing himself in a position from which he could oversee a military coup.

So what’s the problem?

Oh, that was PAUL getting elected, excuse me.

Well...same scenario holds.

I think Bolton and Demint are working overtime to keep Paul on the ballot in dividing up the votes. (makes Paul look legit tho we know that some of his ideas are way off) All this is. I look for DeMint to endorse Mitt. He was on Newt’s case today. The insiders are drawing the battle lines to help Romney. Who’s next? I say Palin will not endorse Mitt. She has some concerns and she is giving us a warning. Last night, Fox cut her mic off when she was taking up for Newt. I hope SC wakes up!

Is it a full moon tonight. I’ve never seen a newscycle like this where so many politicians have said so many inexplicable things in such a short period of time. It’s gotten so bad that right now my homemade cognitive dissonance meter is stuck at DEFCON 1.

"There would be a DoD under Ron Paul?"

Yes, but it would be very, very tiny.

Libertarians and Republicans have an opportune opportunity to coalesce in the interests of our founding principles. It is good to hear Bolton say this. He is preeminently qualified at what he does, and Ron Paul could use some advice in regard to real threats against our liberties.

I called Bolton a sell out a bit ago after he sold his soul to Myth; now I just think he’s lost his mind. Yikes.

Don’t get too wrapped-up in this political intrigue. The Republic ended long ago!

Up is down, down is up.

Every Republican insider has gone insane.

Every damn last one of them wants another governmnet job.

It matters not to any of them, who the he// is president.

It is the insider trading they want access to, not the jobs.

That would seem the most reasonable explanation for the phenomenon. Most of them don’t need a job and it’s been almost forever since anybody has run for congress out of the sincere desire to serve their constituents.
