Trying to jump-start his re-election with hometown fund-raisers and rallies, President Barack Obama told 500 cheering fans Wednesday, Everything that we fought for is now at stake in this election.
He repeated the message at more intimate gatherings in private homes in Lake View and Kenwood. He fired up the troops in his very first visit to his national headquarters in the Prudential Building. And he even stopped in to his own home for 20 minutes at the end of the night before flying back to Washington, D.C.
He hopes the fund-raisers bring in more than $2 million for what he told donors would be a close race.
If youre willing to work even harder in this election than you did in the last election, I promise you, change will come. God bless you Chicago, I love you! he told the 500 fans at the UIC Forum after R&B singer Janelle Monae warmed them up. So did Obamas Harvard Law School classmate CSI NY Star Hill Harper, while about 100 protesters shouted outside.

All the way from Kenya, eh? What a guy.
...is this not embarrassing that Obama could get 500 so called "Americans" to show up at one of his rallies?
I am hpoing that half of them and maybe more were somehow coerced into coming....or, another explaination is that there was FREE FOOD and other FREE stuff given out...
...grumble...a bunch of deadbeats, all!
Yes, yes it is, Mr. Obama - but that's a GOOD thing.
If you love Chicago then go back we don’t need your type of change..It will take us many years to undo the communist things you have done to our country..
Oh, get ready for it. A Republican win this year will mean the return of lynching, Jim Crow, slavery, child labor, the 17-year locusts, and Hurricane Katrina.
And he even stopped in to his own home for 20 minutes at the end of the night

Just to make sure the lights were turned off , the water wasn’t running and the gas stove wasn’t on.
In 2000, during the Florida recount debacle, I met a young black man at a rally that was absolutely sincere in his belief that a George Bush win would mean a return to slavery.
Oh, get ready for it. A Republican win this year will mean the return of lynching, Jim Crow, slavery, child labor, the 17-year locusts, and Hurricane Katrina.
“We have to win. Moochella and I haven’t vacationed yet in over 149 foreign countries! There’s still so much golf to play! And more Halloween parties, and Japanese steak dinners, trysts with Larry Sinclair, and more golf and vacations, and just think of the pay-offs and bribes I can make so I’ll be the richest black asshole that there ever was when I kiss the dumbass job off!”
the old hippies and founding commies are dying off.... the new generation of them are too busy with xbox, facebook, and latte’s..... this was their last chance, and they know it... watch this year very closely, and hammer away at your representatives in the house, ‘cuz only THEY can hold it off long enough for the final battle in November..... I predict that commies will become the permanent minority, as will the hard core socialists.... now, the soft squishy socialists of both parties will probably keep their jobs a little while longer, but the hard left turn is almost over
Your change doesn’t pay the bills, BO.
I’d say his job is definitely at stake.
The destruction of the American dream, the dismantling of our military, submission to foreign heads of state, defeat in Iraq, economic failure, high unemployment, exploding debt, trampling of Constitutional rights, lavish vacations on the hard-pressed taxpayers’ dime, and aiding and abetting Mexican drug cartels with weapons?
THOSE “accomplishments” are at stake?
Yeah, Boy zer0... they damned well should be!!!!!
And of course... OBAMACARE.
Repeal and reverse everything this man touched.
“Obama: Everything that we fought for is now at stake in this election.”
That is the first accurate thing he has said in years.
“Everything that we fought for is now at stake in this election
Wow, that is great news. I figured it would take at least three or four elections to even start to dismantle the abomination that the Federal government has become. The idea that we could do it in one cheers me up immensely.”
Agree! 100%
How many cartons of cigarettes and pints of free booze did it take to scrape up the people who came to see him deliver this line?
And how much of it was charged back to the public?
