RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - Federal District Court Judge John Gibney ruled against Texas Governor Rick Perry and other Republican presidential candidates who sued in an effort to appear on the ballot for the Virginia Republican primary in March.

Judge Gibney announced the ruling Friday afternoon in Richmond, Virginia.[CLICK HERE: Read the judge's order] The suit was originally filed by Texas Governor Rick Perry.

Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum, and Jon Hunstman later joined the challenge.

According to court documents, the Republican candidates failed to meet the 10,000 signature petition requirements to get on the ballot.

Mitt Romney and Ron Paul met the requirements.

Monday, Judge Gibney ordered the distribution of absentee ballots for Virginia's Republican primary to be halted until the legal challenge could be settled.

Just giving you the raw numbers, the republican review committee said the number exceeded the need for audit, take it up with them.

Do you favor a federal court’s intervention into a state’s right to hold elections in a certain manner or do you believe that a state should be able to conduct elections without an unelected activist federal judge overruling decisions of a state legislature?

No.
If the author of the prototype for obamacare, perennial fundraiser for planned parenthood, and the man who once told the gay mafia in Massachusetts he would sign legislation forcing the Boy Scouts to accept gay men then I go write in again.

I’m no fan of Romney, in fact I couldnt stand him before. But he’s grown on me, he’s unflappable, he’s Presidential, he’s not perfect, but he seems to have become more conservative in the last few weeks, his speeches are great.
It’s time we all rally around him. It’s time.

Sorry, Hell has not asked for additional heat due to the icicles forming on the Devil's AZZ!!!!

Too bad for Perry that he didn’t get one of those activist judges on the case.

Jim, I appreciate your forum here more than you will ever know and I respect you. But have you listened to Romney’s words lately? I was no fan of his but he has shown me something of late.

In his speeches, in the debates, he’s articulate, unflappable, not perfect, no not perfect by any means. But he handles pressure and attacks, and even when Newt and Perry out and out LIE about him......as they did when they took his comments about “firing people” completely out of context.

I agree with Dennis Prager who has not lost all respect for Newt and Perry and Hunstman.......the headline should have read.......”Perry’s attackers LIE about what he said.” And they did....and they know they lied. “win at any cost”....that is their goal. And it’s a shame.

That, dogz, is a very good question.

In this case I believe the Feds shouldn’t be involved, as it isn’t an election for national office, merely a state primary to see which contestant gets to run in the national race.

I said the fix was in because it is so obvious the RNC was involved up to its ears in this one.

Rally around a pro-abortionist with blood on his hands? Rally around a sodomite lover? Rally around a phony, conservative hating weakling?

FORGET IT.

Too bad there are still Romney fans here saying otherwise. They are parroting the "If you attack Romney you hate capitalism" line.

If Romney wins the nomination what will conservatives do?

I hear lots of whining, but no ORGANIZING.

Are you going to South Carolina to work for the campaign for your candidate next week?

How many phone calls did you make in to South Carolina for your candidate today?

How many mailers did you print and mail for your candidate today?

How many Tweets did you create for your Candidate today?

How many Facebook postings supporting your candidate did you make today?

Yada,Yada,Yada...

This is the process. We ALL knew it.

Here in Virginia there is no write-in option for primaries.
As another poster said, the fix is in.

Didn't South Park have an episode where the choices for the school mascot election were a Giant Douche and a Turd Sandwich?

Life imitating art. Except in this case, it's a choice between "marshmellow fluff" and the crotchety, old shop instructor who never quite made it out of the 60's.

Romney is a lying political whore who will do or say whatever he thinks he has to do or say to get elected.

The proof: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=7OQoBxZZPqU

Watch it all the way through. It’s a compilation of a couple dozen of his debates and appearances. The man has no bedrock principles. No core values. And he lies about anything and everything.

No thanks!! NO SALE!! NO ROMNEY!!
