Colbert’s ‘Super PAC’ Runs Attack Ad (Against Romney)
NYT ^ | 1.16.12 | JEREMY PETERS

CHARLESTON, S.C. — The Stephen Colbert “super PAC” is now officially legitimate: it’s running an attack ad.

In a 60-second commercial that is being broadcast on the CBS station here, Mr. Colbert’s super PAC calls Mitt Romney a serial killer. Yes, you read that correctly.

“Mitt Romney has a secret,” says the announcer, whose deep, distinctive voice people will recognize as John Lithgow’s. “As head of Bain Capital, he bought companies, carved them up and got rid of what he couldn’t use.” Recalling Mr. Romney’s remark that “corporations are people,” the commercial concludes, “He’s Mitt the Ripper.”

It’s too bad somebody doesn’t start a “super pac” to run attack ads against celebrity dog piles like Colbert.

Colbert is polling ahead of Huntsman and Perry in SC.

Colbert does have the money and the celebrity status, but like Colbert we are all protected by the First Amendment and the Citizens United decision and are free to produce and broadcast such an ad.

Mocking the anti Mitt ads? Classic stuff. Sometimes being the absurd to mock the absurd is the best comedy.

I think we are creating the perfect environment for a third-party candidate to run. As messy as it will be for either Obama or Mitt...I’d say a third-party guy now has a fair chance of winning.

“I think we are creating the perfect environment for a third-party candidate to run.”

If 1992 was not an impetus for a third party in the modern I’m not sure what will be, excerpt for perhaps the Internet. However, we are going into our 4th Internet era election and nothing has really changed.

However, I would not look at a move to a three party system, but instead a four party system, which would include a socially and fiscally conservative party, a fiscally conservative and socially liberal party, a socially liberal and fiscally liberal party and a Christian Democratic party.

Another reason why we do NOT need Mitt Romney as the GOP nominee. Nothing they dig up on Newt is this damaging politically. Rick Santorum is squeaky clean except for a few Senatorial votes that call into question his Conservative judgment on a few occasions in 20 years of public service. They will not dig up any immorality on him. And, I say, a fresh, young face that 80% of America doesn't know will be a welcome change and a breath of fresh air for this electoral process. Am I right or wrong?

Does anyone think Trump is going to make a Third Party run this time? I say the chances are 75/25 percent against it.

Many have said that the Liberal Left is trying to make us “think” that the Dems fear Romney the most in the General Election so the GOP will pick him as our nominee. They say it’s a ruse. However, this might be a indicator that they really are afraid of RINO-Rom, when a far-left loon like Colbert spends money trying to defeat him in a GOP Primary. What say ye?

The Republican presidential model is that they nominate the guy who came in second the last time around, whereas the Democrats nominate some new guy, a fresh face.

The Dems model is dangerous.

The GOP model is boring.

Google ‘Santorum’ for the comedy to be used against him.

What say ye?

The demonRATs are afraid that a can of Campbell's Tomato Soup would beat the anointed one in November and worse {for them}, it will be such a landslide that the house and senate will go will a filibuster proof majority.

In order to prevent such a landslide, they will denigrate any one or any idea that comes from the right side {and will get loads of help from the media whores}.

If the demonRATs keep it close, a namby pamby like mittens will be even more timid "and reach across the aisle" to his "good friend" and fellow Mormon, dirty harry.

There is a pair and a spare.
