Wow. This thread blew up. I saw Sarah on Hannity and I did not read the thread before posting. I told my wife while watching her, “I love Sarah on the outside.” Sarah was great. My wife wanted to kick me. I think Sarah is doing more for our country on the outside than running for President. I think her idea of vetting the candidates now versus later is golden. I also like how Todd can endorse Newt without Sarah doing it at the same time. (Not that I would listen to either of them in terms of my vote.)

I’m not surprised and it’s not rocket science. What’s wrong with anyone not voting for Newt? It’s as glaring as the sun - he’s the one who can kick America’s enemy to the curb and bring back our beloved America while smacking the hands of the judges with ‘don’t touch America’ without Our Constitution!

Go NEWT!

Does anybody really think Main Street has forgotten any of this?

I haven't a clue as to who those people are or what I am supposed to not forget.

“Axelrod has supposedly already read this guy’s book. I think he keeps it by the bedside at night.”

Yes, because he is a communist.

“DTogo, I’m giving you a few quotes, if you want the full story, go to the links and read the articles, I can’t paste everything in here. Bain borrowed money on these companies and paid it to themselves as dividends. This double-dipped the companies into debt and made them vulnerable to bankruptcy since they couldn’t weather any storm. This shows 22% of Bain’s invested companies by size that’ve been shown to have gone bankrupt so far, not a great business record to run on. You’re making a huge stretch saying because Romney left, one or two years later they suddenly went bankrupt. He also didn’t “leave,” he retained a controlling interest and I believe still gets a paycheck from Bain today.”

And what is Newt’s business record? His involvement with Freddie Mac? At least Bain wasn’t counting on the government to bail it out if it failed.

Romney is running on his record with Bain. Are you saying it shouldn’t be vetted and he gets a pass?

BINGO! NOTHING IS untouchable! And they should start slamming him harder on romneycare - the elephant that has never been addressed properly.

No one comes close to Newt’s Conservative debating skills. No One. Not even Rush.

Exactly! Newt's got a passion for America, Rush's passion is in golf.

Newt's got a gift for such a time as this. Go Newt!

Thanks. I point out that Mitt really can’t be trusted. That does resonate.

“I wouldn’t necessarily argue that what Romney did should be illegal.

It's not that Romney's actions should be made illegal. It that our bankruptcy laws, passed by our government, makes it legal for people to pocket other people's money from a bankruptcy.”

Actually Romney/Bains business model sets up a conflict of interest wherein they had the legal, fiduciary obligation to serve both Bain and the Target company equally well. The Bain people joined the target company's management and board of directors.

As such, they had a fiduciary responsibility toward the long term health of the acquired company. Romney his self has said that “great care has to be taken not to take a dividend or distribution from a company that puts that company at risk.”

How well they did that is an issue for some of these companies. Bain was, according to articles posted on other threads, more aggressive with taking money out than many other PE firms. Naturally when they go bankrupt shortly after Bain leaves questions are bound to come up.

Kennedy used Bain to beat him, John McCain used Bain to beat him, and Obama will use it against him. In spite of having years to prepare an adequate explanation, he has yet to give a satisfactory response. That is why I think he is the least electable candidate.

The support in SC according the Rasmussen Poll on Monday for Newt, Santorum and Perry is 42 percent, greater than Mitt Romney’s 35 percent and also greater than Ron Paul’s 16 percent.

Its time for Santorum and Perry supporters to switch their votes to Newt so Romney loses on Saturday.

Otherwise, Romney will run away with the nomination.
