If you think youve already heard everything there is to know about Mitt Romney, think again. A 200-page document that appears to be Sen. John McCains entire 2008 election-year opposition research file on the former Massachusetts governor hit the Internet with a vengeance Tuesday evening. And its an eye-opener.
The file explores everything from the assessed value of Romneys house ($3.162 million) to his views on the Boy Scouts ban of homosexuals (publicly opposed in 1994 and 2002 campaigns). It was made public Tuesday on the social media website Buzzfeed, although it appears to have been accessible online for two months.
The document, given the name The Romney Book, was viewed less than 100 times on the page where it was originally uploaded by its anonymous leaker on November 11.
You betcha'!!
GOP establishment wants to keep their power and like Mittens. He’ll create new “tax credits” for businesses rather than cut spending. Which makes him part of the problem, not the solution!
Hmm, you want to chip in and send them a thank you note?
I’ve always thought Bill Clinton wasn’t ‘as bad’ as I thought he was going to be because he had (and still does) a greedy streak that would overide his ideology when it came down to $$$$. He didn’t want to kill the Golden Goose. Obama doesn’t seem to care about the Goose although he certainly enjoys collecting the golden eggs & living the ‘high life’ at taxpayer expense .... he and Mooschelle are real gypsies in the palace (apologies to real gypsies everywhere). I think if Romney gets elected, he’ll be more of a Clinton type, not a total destroyer like Obama. That will still not solve the issues facing the country, just kick the can down the road & the end of the road is in sight as it vanished over a cliff.
Romney and Newt getting carpet-bombed on the same day. What’s the latest on Santorum on InTrade?
And did anyone notice Christie yesterday hinting he might make himself available?
That line of reasoning is mathematically correct.
Here is a simple example. Obama is running as a Democrat; however two equally viable Republicans (say, Cain and Gingrich) are opposing him. The elections will be 40% - 30% - 30% and Obama wins, even though majority of voters don't want him. Republicans together get more votes, but "together" doesn't count.
Because of that problem many new electoral systems are proposed by mathematicians. But for some reason politicians are not too eager to embrace them and start winning their positions fair and square.
Regarding his intelligence, I don't know if Romney is as smart as Newt and he's just an average debater, but from everything I've read he's an outstanding business manager and just a real positive guy who always gets positive results and believes his organization will always succeed. Conservatives need to keep in mind that he will have to move to the right from his policies in MA in order to get along with a Republican congress. These primaries are getting too destructive to the GOP and we need to stop the infighting soon and unite behind one candidate. We can also pressure that candidate to move to the right (and Romney will move right to get along with a Republican congress). Then, to win the general election, our candidate just has to just neutralize the accusations by Obama's campaign and focus the public on all of BHO's failures and serious policy errors as President. That's the road to GOP control of the House, Senate, and White House, and the only road to stop an inflationary devaluation of the dollar that would be required to pay for all of Obama, Reid, and Pelosi's massive spending plans through the stealth tax of inflation (if they retain power).
Personally I think Santorum, Gingrich, and Romney can all beat Obama in the general election, but Ron Paul would definitely lose to Obama and Perry would be a toss-up vs. Obama. So I'll be happy if either Santorum, Grinrich, or Romney ends up as the GOP nominee and I'll support our nominee as much as possible.
