Crammed into tiny cages, unable to stand and deprived of food and water, these dogs endured terrible suffering on a truck bound for a chain of restaurants.

The harrowing pictures show the cruel conditions in which 1,500 of the animals were found when the truck was stopped at a toll gate by highway police and animal rescue volunteers in Chongqing, south-west China. ...

The animals were moved to a nearby farm by volunteers from the Chongqing Animal Protection Association who gave them food, water and emergency treatment. ...

Isn’t this the country that has a 1 child policy?? Isn’t this the country that kills girls because they are girls????
How then, can we expect humane treatment of a food supply???

Is it illegal to buy and sell dogs for the purpose of food in China? If not why are they not bread and raised on farms like cows and sheep?

During the Lewis and Clark expedition found their men got fat on dog better than wild meat. They even developed a preference to dog over horse.

“Scavs eat dogs!”

Then there was the two old ladies who had never had a hot dog. When they got one, one of the women looked at it and asked the other...”What part of the dog did you get?”

Where do people thing the words “Chow Down!” came from.

“When you are hungry you will eat dog and you will fight for the bones!”- Paul Newman in HOMBRE

Then there is a scene in LITTLE BIG MAN about puppy being “a might greasy but you don’t mind when you are starving”.

***This is why I only patronize restaurants that use free-range dogs. ***

Good thing I locked up my two babies. They would have fed a family of 10 for a week!

Here in Chicago, there was a news story I read a few years ago where the neighbors called the police after hearing some strange noises and a gunshot. Turns out, the Eastern Europeans in the house next door had shot and were butchering a cow in their garage. They didn’t seem to think there was anything unusual about that.

I want to know the name of that “chain of restaurants.”

The odds of someone being served dog meat in place of chicken are about the same as those of him being served filet mignon instead of chicken. In China, dog meat and filet mignon are similarly priced. Except filet is boneless, and dog meat isn't.

Relax. To the Chinese, dog meat is like filet mignon, only more expensive and highly sought-after. No chance they're going to slip it into your average Chinese restaurant dinner combo. Not unless you're paying $60 for the entre.

Either way I think what they were doing was illegal. If they do that in Texas just imagine what they do in China.

Butchering cattle is illegal in Texas?

Country people certainly didn't think anything of slaughtering an animal in their garage or barn but the Chinese doing it in the trunk of their car in a parking lot was over the top. I keep thinking about if that meat went to a Chinese restaurant. ick!

In the trunk of your car for consumption in a restaurant, yes that is illegal in Texas.

This would be a great application for a machine gun or a Gatling gun. All the beyond-disgusting-—there are no adequate words-—Chinese pigs who do this to dogs and cats (and other animals) and those who eat the animals would make excellent target practice. Just keep running the guns on them until you have to reload. Let feral animals dispose of the unholy corpses. I would have NO mercy, none whatsoever, for the Chinese dog/cat-eating pigs. Alternatively, you could drop them into vast vats of boiling water like they do to cats. That would too good for them.

Is there something unusual about shooting and butchering a cow in your garage?
