Despite the impassioned pleas of Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi’s wife, a judge has renewed a court order barring him from seeing or contacting his spouse or son until his domestic abuse trial is over.
“This country is trying to pull my family apart,” Eliana Lopez told Judge Susan Breall at her husband’s arraignment Thursday. “This is the real violence, I believe.”
Mirkarimi, seated in the front row, quivered and wiped tears from his eyes.
Prosecutors asked to extend an emergency protective order filed after Mirkarimi’s arrest last week on domestic violence battery, child endangerment and witness dissuasion charges, all misdemeanors. The 50-year-old pleaded not guilty Thursday and sought a trial within 45 days.
Lopez met privately with a county victim services advocate, delaying court proceedings for about 30 minutes.

Now she must deny the truth or he's eventually ruined politically and will lose his office as Sheriff of SF County.

She does realize that unless she files a complaint against her husband for violating the order that they can ignore it with impunity if both decide too. Heck, I see it all the time in my area, Hubby and Wife gets in a fight, one or the other gets a domestic order, a week later they are back living together. (of course while the order is in effect, the spouse that its against risks arrest if they piss of the other and a complaint is filed)

San Francisco is certainly putting their "best" foot forward.
She claims to be an "Indian" (as in South American native Indian), and has already bounced a triple race card off the United States in her comment that the "gringos" are out to get both her, the innocent "Indian" girl, and her "Iranian" husband.

DV laws have truly done more damage to families then they will ever fix. And I don’t care who this woman is. She didn’t know all of the consequences of the DV laws, only that she thought she could punish her husband in a brief moment of rage by threatening him with arrest.
But, these laws will never get repealed because we will all accuse the politicians of wanting to go back to the stone age where men supposedly beat their wives into submission on a daily basis while on drunken binges.
