Why use ‘despicable,’ clueless left-wing media to moderate GOP debates?
Washington Times ^ | Friday, January 20, 2012 | Charles Hurt

There is growing consternation in Republican circles and among conservatives over why Republicans keep allowing the various Communist, leftist and otherwise anti-American TV networks to host GOP debates.

The utter cluelessness of the questions these people think actual American voters care about is mystifying.

Indeed, the entire phoenix rising candidacy of former House Speaker Newt Gingrich can be attributed to America’s abject hatred of the left-wing media. He was destitute and written off by the press when he tapped into one of the most visceral political reactions coursing through the veins of regular Americans.

Last night, we saw once again why Republicans need to keep allowing fakers and Communists to moderate their GOP debates. Because without the leftist, elitist snobs to beat the ever-living crap out of every couple of weeks, the debates would be so much less fun.

So ferocious was the rebuke of the low-foreheaded moderator that he meekly tried to back out.

And once again, the audience roared its approval, voters watching at home leaped to their feet and whooped their approval and the elites in the media once again recoiled in disbelief and confusion.

In its folly of pretending to care about these voters, CNN allowed one voter in the audience to ask a question. She simply wondered what each candidate would do to make sure that all the illegal aliens flooding the country would not take the jobs of actual legal Americans.

Superb question. But CNN cut her mic, and Mr. King tossed her question aside to ask his own idiotic, canned question about immigration that rendered the same canned answers we have heard a hundred times before.

For these left-wing networks, the last thing they want to deal with in this election is ideas, truth and fairness.

I hear people talking about how Newt will destroy Obama in the Debates. What makes averyone so certain that Obama will agree to debates? Even if he does, they will make sure the formats are structured in such a way that favors him.

I say media because in the thread, it mentions left-wing tv. Other than FNN, what tv channel isn’t left-wing? Why haven’t any of those you mention hosted a debate? What channel would it be on?

"why Republicans keep allowing the various Communist, leftist and otherwise anti-American TV networks to host GOP debates."

I wouldn't mind it so much if there was turnabout fairplay and conservatives could moderate the Democrat debates. I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for that or for Hell to freeze over.

I think Newt's attacks on the media in these debates work well - as long as it is a GOP debate. For the general election debates, you won't have the studio crowd on your side, at least not all of it. And after this smackdown, the media might make sure to stack future debate audiences with leftists to ensure boos as opposed to cheers.

Newt's legacy last night is that, for the rest of our lives and our children's lives, it will be open season on the media during these political debates.

He deserves the Presidency for that gift alone.

The stupid party is stuck on stupid.

The campaign issues are framed by the Left. The assumption is made that THESE are the top issues because liberal fa**ots at anchor desks talk about them.

WHY!!???!!...... because republicans and democrats are the same animal.... the conservatives are considered an anomoly that must be first placated then eradicated.... time to eradicate the squishy moderates from the party, or leave it altogether... choice is yours to make ( I have already made mine, and this election is the breaking point )

It would be on Fox. The reason no one has ever thought to do that?

1. You would get to many viewers both republican and democrat

2. The TV stations think there should be a monopoly on the coverage.

3. The networks take themselves to serously to let “entertainers” do the work of professionals.

4. The Networks think they need to have politically objective hosts (which they fail at)

5. They are not smart enough to think of it!!!! Having a died in the wool conservative moderate a debate, especially someone famous and followed, would bring the largest viewing crowd ever and some from the left to watch.

6. The GOP and the candidates are “above” that sort of thing.

OPEN TPWN HALL meetings, broadcast by the local TV station- with a draw for which network would fill that job.

Questions from the audience—& other sources.

Ordinary citizens—even the local high school class president of head of the local high school student council could be the moderator.

Having watched some of the highlights of the recent debates, it’s clear to me the reason why Newt is doing well is that he’s addressing the moderator not as a moderator but as some liberal that he’s debating with.

He doesn’t answer the questions, he challenges the questions and the premise of those questions. Which is why he’s doing so well.

Comment: I watched CNN's after the debate "analysis." They were visibly shaken by the audience reaction to Newts response.

That, right there, is a good thing. We the people CNNABCMSNBCBSNPRetc have been lying to all these years have had it up to here with their bias, manipulation, omissions, and utter contempt for us.

There's going to be blowback someday -- then they'll really be shaken.

I agree, I have also gotten several local radio stations to change their hourly news providers. it always struck me as funny listening to Rush etc rip the mainstream media then at the top of the hour the radio station plays the same BS news updates from CNN ABC NBC etc.
