>> You finally got it right Brit!

Perhaps the only non-negative comment made regarding Newt.

Probably because it’s still too early. Anything can still happen and, once you give an endorsement, you can’t really go for a mulligan and give another one.

Because her viewpoint is very important to you guys, it’s better to give it to the Republican nominee to become president than to give it to somebody to become the nominee.

Here's CNN polls on the win so far...

Newt.......41%

Romney.....27%

Santorum...17%

PAul.......13%

Their saying Newt and the conservatives absorbed all the attacks against Newt and by this vote are stating it doesn't matter.

The ethics report on Newt Gingrich is publicly available,

.... when the IRS looked into those accusations in a three-year investigation, it found that the donations to Gingrich’s charity were “consistent with its stated exempt purposes,”.... and Gingrich’s course and course book “were educational in content,” according to The Washington Post in 1999.

The IRS declared that Gingrich’s course ”was educational and never favored or opposed a candidate for public office.”

Looks to me the Ideal ticket would be

Newt/Santorum 2012.

SC Clearly Rejected what they thought to be a liberal Candidate Mittens. But they Liked Santorum Moral Fiber.

Newt Tagging Santorum as VP would Lessen Newt's Moral Negatives with the Conservatives and give Santorum the seasoning/aging he would need in 8 year to be POTUS.

Would have loved to see the exit polling on Immigration and securing the border. I think Newt would have won that as well.

IMHO

Did you also catch the threat Brit warned of..he said the Repubs on the hill see Newt unfavorably by 56%..so basically the Congress..which has the lowest rating in US history will be gunning for Newt.

Also..I caught that the Rove/Romney axis is now counting on a prolonged season..meaning..the media is going to start promoting Ron Paul and Sanatorium to keep them in the race...count on it.

Tell all the little "hobbits" you know..get the lower two candidates out ..now! And tell your reps if they don't get behind the peoples choice you are running them out. Just my two cents. We can win!

“Sarah Palin had nothing to do with it. Besides she didn’t endorse him.”

Well, she kinda sorta did in her usual kinda sorta way. But we’ll take it.

Newt's speech was just superb. Seven 3 hr debates and he mentioned Saul Alinsky radical what, 2-3 times. He is going to take the fight to Obama and the MSM!

We have a big fight ahead of us but this can be done. Remember the Founders!

My final enumeration for the thread's history:

Current count - 95% counted (563,780)

Newt 40.7%
Mitt 27.1%
Rick 17.3%
RonP 13.3%

plus, for the record:
Cain 0.893%
Perry 0.414%
Huntsman 0.173%
Bachmann 0.082%

Newt carried all but two counties. Santorum came in second in four or five counties in the northern part of the state, RPaul came in second in three or so counties in the west of the southern border of the state. In several counties, Mr.Newt carried more than 50% of the vote, and in one county he garnered 60% In the two counties that Romney won, he beat Gingrich by about 2-3%.

Mr.Newt will garner at least 19 of South Carolina's 25 delegates, due to his large victory margin.

You know many of us weren't happy with Rick Perry's performance in these primaries and debates, but I think most Freepers would agree with about 80% - 90% of his positons.

Perry is a good conservative, and did the right thing in endorsing Gingrich.

Never once did I assert that every single thing that Paul said was bad. I said he was going on and on ad nauseum. He could’ve said everything he wanted to say in one third of the words and made a MUCH greater impact. Going on as he did made it apparent once again that the good doctor very much enjoys his camera-time and listening to his jaws flap, something that he’s done on numerous occasions. It is behavior that detracts from him, his credibility and eventually his ideas.

There are fiscal things I could agree with Paul about but that’s it. Nothing else. And what is STUPID is to pick arguments with fellow conservatives on a nomination thread, about a candidate that doesn’t stand a snowball’s chance in hell of gaining the nomination.

I don’t like Paul’s social policies either AFPhys. So between his nightmare foreign policy ideas and his positions on abortion and homosexuality, he’s a total no-go.
