Shoot, Paul should have walked off, and then when they came to grab him let them know the law, and if they insisted then when back at Congress started a bill to impeach the bastards.
I'm sure the two hours of jacking a US Senator around made their day, week, and month.
Paul should have pulled a "Do you know who I am?" Jon Cary deal on them. THAT would have got some action.
They probably would have tasered him.
The Contitution requires that a Member of Congress not be detained. But this Administration doesn’t give a damn about the Constitution.
The TSA detains a US Senator en route to Washington, who has identified himself and is unarmed.
Sounds like a scene out of a movie about revolution.
It is rare ANYWHERE to be able to get a cop in the field to admit he’s detaining you.
They simply refuse to answer the question, while continuing to refuse to permit you to leave.
Later when they write the report they say you volunteered to remain where they asked you to be.

It’s Rand’s bad luck he isn’t Muslim like his father.
It's to defend themselves from TSA geeks!
Or, maybe have them accompanied by a Marine Corps fire team.
What else do you expect to happen, after we elected a communist traitor mole?
Or to put it in more real life terms 'Am I under arrest?' - 'DO YOU WANT TO BE UNDER ARREST?'
Indeed.
They shall in all Cases, except Treason, Felony and Breach of the Peace, be privileged from Arrest during their Attendance at the Session of their respective Houses, and in going to and returning from the same;
Art. I, Sec. 6, Constitution for the United States.
But they've already said it was a Non-detention detention, and I guess they could say it was breach of the peace. I'd have liked to have been a fly in the wall.. Say all those places are under video surveillance, he should subpena the video and then release it on his Senate Website. :)

"Jan 26, 2011 WASHINGTON, D.C. -The U.S. Senate Republicans announced committee assignments for the 112thCongress today. Sen. Rand Paul received placement on four committees: Energy and Natural Resources; Health, Education, Labor and Pensions; Homeland Security and Government Affairs; and Small Business."
Rand Paul IS one of the big bosses ~ a lesser one, but still with the rank.
I think TSA really hurt itself with this one.
Jay Carney has a very memorable face.
I wonder how he will get along once he is forced to return to private life and no longer enjoys protection by a government good squad. I suspect that he will rapidly lose that smug attitude that he cops.
I look forward to reading about his post White House encounters with the common man that he so clearly despises.
Yes, but what time was Rand detained? I guarantee you that congress was in Recess for at least a half hour prior to at least a half hour post the detention.
Don't believe me? Just ask the white house.
type fix: “congress was in Recess” should be “senate was in Recess”
Its Rands bad luck he isnt Muslim like his father. You mean like Obozo’s father and Obozo also. The man is innocent, TSA is guilty. I hope somehow, some way Senator Rand Paul Breaks it off in their ass. Not because he is a Senator, but he is a American born, U.S. citizen. We all know the usual suspects are muslims and converts to Insane, I mean islam. Who else is blowing shit up???
Fat chance of that happening. I guarantee that she doesn't fly on a commercial carrier.
