Its called the open carry law, and its now the law in California - when it comes to handguns.

Governor Jerry Brown signed the bill into law that bans 'unloaded handguns in public.' It went on the books on earlier this month. (January 1st.)

With the new law, California residents can no longer carry an unloaded handgun in public.

Now, Democratic Assemblyman Anthony Portantino wants to expand that ban to rifles.

Portantino says he wants another law because some California residents are now showing up in public with unloaded shotguns and rifles.

So, he wants another law...

Next up, knives! And then, rolling pins!

Then, everybody must keep their hands in their pockets in public. And don’t walk fast, that’s dangerous!

No unloaded handguns, you say?

I'm sorry, officer, I had no idea. I only have one bullet with me; if I promise to chamber it, will you let me off with just a warning?

Must have permit to conceal carry.

Can no longer conceal carry.

Open carry of pistols must be unloaded.

No open carry of pistols.

No open carry of long guns.

Amongst all of that... Various types of guns made illegal for entirely arbitrary and capricious reasons.

Do I need to paint the picture any further? Californians... You are now past your “tipping point”. The line has been crossed.

Do you now draw another line even further back? Or do you finally take a stand?

How do you chamber a bullet?

sooner or later, half the population, or maybe even just 3% are going to head to the hallowed halls with more than unloaded weapons...

Some people also call the shell-and-bullet assembly a bullet. That’s what Barney Fife would have carried in his pocket.

Well, you don’t want folks wiggin out.

It not like a kitchen knife or a 5,000 lb car full of gasoline going 70 MPH down the highway.

Unloaded rifles are DANGEROUS!

‘unloaded handguns in public.’

- - - -
Which makes gun shows illegal on a technicality.

Another day, another reason I am glad we got the hell out of California and moved to America.

I wonder if this includes a ban on carrying while walking along a county road on my own property for purposes of self-defense against wild boar, mountain lions, and coyotes.

Same here. Hated like hell to leave my beloved birthplace, but the place I grew up in, no longer exists.

Some people also call the shell-and-bullet assembly a bullet.

They're wrong, and most likely call pistol magazines "clips" too.
