Frank Sinatra - That's Life

That's life, that's what people say.

You're riding high in April,
Shot down in May.
But I know I'm gonna change their tune,
When I'm right back on top in June.

That's life, funny as it seems.
Some people get their kicks,
Steppin' on dreams
But I just can't let it get me down,

Cause this big old world keeps spinnin' around.

I've been a puppet, a pauper, a pirate,
A poet, a pawn and a king.
I've been up and down and over and out
But I know one thing:
Each time I find myself flat on my face,
I pick myself up and get back in the race.

That's life, I can't deny it,

I thought of quitting,
But my heart just won't buy it.
Cause if I didn't think it was worth a try,
I'd have to roll myself up in a big ball and die.

Mike & The Mechanics - The living Years

Every generation
Blames the one before
And all of their frustrations

Come beating on your door

I know that I'm a prisoner
To all my father held so dear
I know that I'm a hostage
To all his hopes and fears
I just wish I could have told him
In the living years

Crumpled bits of paper

Filled with imperfect thought
Stilted conversations
I'm afraid that's all we've got

You say you just don't see it
He says it's perfect sense
You just can't get agreement
In this present tense
We all talk a different language

Talking in defence

Say it loud, say it clear
You can listen as well as you hear
It's too late when we die
To admit we don't see eye to eye

So we open up a quarrel
Between the present and the past
We only sacrifice the future

It's the bitterness that lasts

So don't yield to the fortunes
You sometimes see as fate
It may have a new perspective
On a different day
And if you don't give up,
And don't give in
You may just be OK

Say it loud, say it clear
You can listen as well as you hear
It's too late when we die
To admit we don't see eye to eye

I wasn't there that morning
When my father passed away
I didn't get to tell him
All the things I had to say.

I think I caught his spirit
Later that same year
I'm sure I heard his echo
In my baby's new born tears
I just wish I could have told him
In the living years

Say it loud, say it clear
You can listen as well as you hear

It's too late when we die
To admit we don't see eye to eye

One of my all-time favorite outubes.

Gerry’s soulful singing, and the black and white video of post war England, are very poignant.

That would have been my contribution to the thread, but you beat me to it.

...they have dictated that we are going paperless. This is creating TERRIBLE PROBLEMS and lots of little meetings amongst ourselves trying to figure out what to do with our essential notes on problems. The auditors are going to love no notes on how we got what we got.

This new "procedure" is a pain in A$$.

Not only for you guys implementing it but for the consumer to have to figure out ONE MORE PASSWORD that has 15 characters, one MUST be a letter, one MUST be a number, ONE MUST be special character, yada...yada...yada...

Then we have to figure out how to get the info and where to store it on our computer...yada...yada...yada...

And for me I think it's a scam for a company who is making money on your money to charge you for mailing your statement.

I'm with you on how are we going to show auditors how we got to that point...
