Makes me wonder about Ann, too. What’s going to happen should Newt win the nomination. Are they all going to support Obama? Wouldn’t surprise me in the least. True colors are most definitely showing...rising to the surface with all these snots who are pushing Romney. Go Newt!

Also we will need unity once we get a nominee.

Telling those with whom you disagree to shut up, saying they have no right to state their opposition in an appropriate venue, moving to excommunicate them in essence, really ticks people off.

Saying “I vehemently disagree with you and will do everything I can to defeat the candidate you are supporting” is something that grown-ups can accept. And reach unity over once the race is over.

Calling names, turning viciously on people who have been helpful to the conservative cause of years, telling people it’s a “rookie mistake” to even mention Gingrich’s foibles is what can sink the race.

I don’t know why people feel so insecure in their own views that they don’t want to accept that others go through the same process that they have, yet reached a different conclusion on who to support at this point in time.

Simply disagree and fight to persuade others of your point-of-view. That is all.

As we all know, the ‘news’ is how you spin it.

We could take these same incidents and report that “Newt is more conservative than Reagan”.

It’s all about how well you can lie to people...

At this point in the process, you either support:

Newt Gingrich

Rick Santorum

Newt Romney

or Barack Obama.

Who is it?

Pick a lane.

Yeah, and the MSM would never make up stories like that about Mitt Romney in the general election. Let’s nominate him instead.

WTH?

I have no clue what your point is or how it relates to this discussion. Sorry.

Are you claiming these stories are made up?

Credit where credit is due...and it is due.

You are, hands down, either suffering the most extreme case of willful blindness ever recorded in the DSM, or are suffering one of the mainy other ailments described therin. So be it.

If you notice storm clouds forming, I wouldn’t stand near any trees. nevertheless, go on spouting your ‘concerns’ over Newt and watch for the flash. We are.

The story you linked is a leftist site that is clearly pulling things out of their ass. The point is that they're going to do this for Romney as well, and he has shown no ability to fight back. He's just like McCain, unable to stand up for himself because he doesn't want to risk huwting anybody's feewings.

"....based solely on the fact that they do not agree with you -- are actually enlightened, courageous, intelligent human beings."

That is not what it's based on..we are now fighting GOProud..a very real component of the GOP that is supporting Romney..because he said he would be for gay marriage. Drudge is allegedly gay..Ann C came out in support of the gay block and they all want Romney...you do the calculations. They are social progressives.

The real problem I have with all of it is the deception. It does not sit well with me and strikes me as trying to tip the scales in an unnatural way that will lead to no good. It's also insulting the the process that is supposed to serve all Americans.

Deception is not the way to win your case...oh, you can win a few ill-gotten battles, only to have them snatched from you because you lied and deceived people into thinking you hold their beliefs.. That is what all this is based on....not that they disagree, but that they pretended to agree and now smugly spring this backstabbing operation into gear.

BOYCOTT Drudge! Spread it around!
Seriously stop going to drudge!!!!
You can’t trust any of these “conservative” elitist hacks anymore! He is so one sided for Mittens that he has to be told (by boycotting) that We The People will no longer be sheep!

No I think Romney is not republican, he is for homosexuality, planned parenthood, where the hell does he stand on guns? His advisers went on record saying they will not overturn obaamacare, WTF is that crap?, Said he wants talks with he Taliban, wants a VAT.

Dress it up all you want by attacking Newt but the fact is many from Reagans days are saying for Newt and Romney is an elitist north east establishment candidate?

Now if you are an establishment then tell me so I don’t assume

Newt is just what Rush described, a vessel for conveying the conservative message to America. That is his strength. He is a vessel with problems. That is his weakness.

Santorum too is such a vessel, however he does not seem to be able to resonate with people. Sadly, I don’t think that is going to change.

Romney is a vessel no more able to resonate than Santorum. But there is a second issue. When he speaks conservative lines it just doesn’t sound like believes what he is putting forward (when he puts them forward). His record provides nothing to reassure. When questioned by conservatives he seems thin-skinned and petulant (remind you of anyone?).

Paul is right on several important domestic issues, chiefly fiscal. But on the rest he simply is not a conservative. He is a libertarian. That is the truth.

The only way out of this, it seems to me, is for conservatives to support Newt against Mitt. If the GOP elites continue to fight tooth and nail for Romney, this could go all the way to the convention. Then the party will have to look into its soul and decide. If not either one of those two, who will it choose? If it chooses a conservative, that is fine with me. If it chooses another Ford/Dole/McCain/Romney clone, well ... I see nothing but trouble ahead.

But for now it is Newt, as imperfect as he is.
