Gingrich: I'll go all the way to the convention

Port St. Lucie, Fla. -- Whether or not he wins Florida, Newt Gingrich says, "I will go all the way to the convention. I expect to win the nomination."

Mitt Romney's surrogates have been appearing at every one of Newt Gingrich's rallies in the Sunshine State, but the tactic hasn't seemed to draw much reaction from the former House speaker, who on Saturday turned most of his attention to President Obama on the stump. He focused on three things "that matter to Florida ... jobs, housing, and space."

(snip)

"People ask me what can we do about getting more jobs in America? And the answer is: defeat Barack Obama!" Gingrich began. "People say what can we do about housing foreclosure problem in Florida? The answer is defeat Barack Obama! People ask about the price of gasoline and the answer is: defeat Barack Obama!"

I would prefer he win Florida, because he seems more likely to beat Romney right now than Santorum.

However, if Newt can’t win Florida, I wish he’d drop out and give Santorum a shot at bringing the conservatives together.

Santorum is not conservative. He is a fiscal moderate, Earmark loving Big Government Republican. His senate record and failed election proves it.

Santorum is a spoiler and he knows it. You can bet that Romney is his big buddy and they may have cooked up a deal to take Newt down in Florida.

If Newt does drop out, Santorum will not even come close to beating him. He has no money, even poorer organization and his popularity among voters is as exciting as watching mold grow.

As a Santorum, backer I agree with you. But I believe Romney is unstoppable. The Republican establishment like Scotland Yard nearly always gets its man.

That’s the spirit! Newt remembers Reagan in ‘76. Loss after loss, then he gained steam in NC. Newt has steam already, in SC. Long way to go.

Newt, just forget the negative ads, forget how much money Romney has in Swiss bank accounts, ignore the ankle biters - and speak as you can so eloquently in defense of conservative principles. Act as if the Republican Party were actually the standard-bearer of conservatism, as it should be.

Conservatism - works every time it’s tried.

Cong RomBot trolls:

"It's a free country," Gingrich said when asked by reporters about the presence of Romney endorsers at his events. Minutes earlier, Reps. Connie Mack and Charlie Bass were mixing with journalists and trashing his electability on behalf of Mitt Romney ... Gingrich said, "The term desperation comes to mind."

I guess Rotney is not ignoring Nevada, got his hit-piece in the mail today.

He reaches allllll the waaaay back to 1985 to find “Conservative” people to quote in his attck.

Repeats the misleading $300,000 ethics violation charge.

Claims republicans forced Gingrich out as speaker.

His sources are printed too small to read without a microscope.

Does not really matter, Newt has flaws, but Rotney is the Frankenstien monster!

No way do I vote for that gun grabbing POS!

Has anyone else noticed that “Romney surrogates” seem almost......cult-like? Along with this whole shadowy Romeny disinformation squad... they even turned Ann Coulter into a Stepford wife.

Creepy.

Obama’s backers must be licking their chops. They get Romney nominated, then the MEdia poodles will destroy him and beliefs of the mormon church...probably one of the more significant impediments to marxist domestic takeover since the mormons fight well and with committment and are self-sufficient if they have to be.

I’m very happy to see Mr. Gingrich taking this tack. He has to focus on why we need him to be our President instead of Obama.

If the American people voted Obama, and his crowd of radicals into office to strip us of our Constitution, then he is doing as American’s asked him to do. I know, and you know this is NOT what American’s asked for. Obama played the Trojan Horse, and now we have to fight like “H” to get the whole mess turned around. We need a leader with the experience, the guts, and the self worth to produce the results we need.

IT AIN’T ROMNEY, or his ilk. Newt IS the only one with the experience, the guts, and the belief in himself, and the American people to get the job done.
