If the polls are correct, Rick Santorum will not win tonights primary. But he tells National Review Online that he remains in the hunt for the nomination. This is a game of survivor, he says. Im under the strong belief that we are going to hang in there. You are going to see some more ebbs and flows in this campaign. We are going to get our opportunity.

“Santorum is an establishment RINO...”
Here’s how Santorum could establish that he’s not staying in to split the conservative vote and thus benefit Romney, but still stay relevant. Just announce that he will compete in the remaining proportional-delegate states only.
count on it, and I am right with you. Something is just not right with Rick, other than THAT promise from the GOPe. Why else would a knowing loser remain?
Speaks volumns to me, he does not care about the future of AMERICA, simple as that. For all his POMPous talk in the debates, it is becomming clearer that he is only an opportunist. He is young yet and has time to RUN next time. He's paid off. Will we forget?
We are only four states in and only three have been finalized. It is too early to be telling candididates to get out. Newt has not lost one vote to Santorum. Sanotrum won Iowa, Santorum beat Newt in NH and Newt beat Santorum in SC. No way has either one of them lost votes to the other. Today we will see but from what the polls say, even if Santorum left yesterday the two together would not beat Romney. I am interested to see how Santorum does in Nevada and Colorado before he gets out. He just might beat Newt in those states and then what. We need the strongest candidate to beat Obama and if Newt is not that person as matchups show he is not than we need someone other than Romney. Let’s see how this plays out before going nuclear on Rick.
Common sense is not allowed on these threads.
I have never considered and would never vote for Santorum for president. However, calling him a fraud, dishonest and without morals is plain wrong. What would the pro-life movement be without those people who had a change of heart? True, it is hard to tell whether someone has had a change of heart or is simply following the polls. What did Jesus say? "By their fruits you shall know them". Rick Santorum's pro-life work in the Senate is good enough for me to believe that he IS what he claims to be.
He is a spoiler now.
he will be an anchor for the baby-killers. Remember, he was in favor of killing babies in 1990. -JimWayne
This kind of wild attack on Rick Santorum is disgraceful.
So far this primary cycle, someone has been accused of being in the Romney camp, depending on who the perceived conservative front-runner has been. That included Bachmann, Cain, Perry, and now Santorum. I think that there is a lot of paranoia going on lately. I believe if Rick has a few more poor showings, he will drop out. But he has done better than expected.
Right on! If Newt does worse than expected tonight and Santorum does better Newt should...for the first time in his life perhaps...show the grace and dignity to remove himself as the obstacle to nominating a true conservative to face obama.
You may be right but he still should.
What a dumb idea. He’s running to WIN for chrissake. Geez.
Disgraceful? Yes. Out of the ordinary around here these days? Sadly, no.
Latest Polls show Santorum doing better than Newt against Obama.
We have to beat Romney NOW, remember DELEGATES???
But alas, Santorum will have his day in the 2022 election to run for POTUS, backed by the GOPe, it's HIS TURN don't ya know? Just hang in there Rick and split the vote. just peachy.
So, basically, we as conservatives should all anoint Newt as the “conservative” candidate to counter the GOPe “liberal” candidate, Romney? Really?
This isn’t a ‘game’ Rick. It’s deadly serious.
P.S. Unless you know something that I don’t, there is not a Presidential election in 2022. 2020 and 2024.
IN one word: YES. Santorum can not/will win the nomination and it is obvious he is only in this now to split the vote, a trade for IT’S HIS TURN NEXT TIME.
2020. That will be the year the GOPes back Rick. IT’S HIS TURN/s.
