RUSH: St. Louis. This is Greg. Great to have you on the program, sir. Hello.
CALLER: Hey, Rush. God bless you, buddy. Been listening to you for a long time, and, like you, I'm an expert at what I do. I've got a painting company, funny story, I have the ability to listen to you at different job sites, particularly residential job sites, and it's a hoot when I'm at a liberal's house painting with Rush Limbaugh on. It drives 'em crazy.
RUSH: I can imagine that. I've heard such stories, guys on ladders with the radio on where the owner can't get to it. The wife, in particular, just goes batty.
CALLER: Yep.
RUSH: Husbands, too. They can't do anything about it other than fire the painter, which they don't want to do.
CALLER: Right. Yeah. It's hysterical. It's really amusing. It's funny. I can almost tell neighborhood by neighborhood, you know, what kind of clientele I have and whether or not I'm gonna drive 'em crazy.
RUSH: How can you do that? How can you tell by neighborhood what kind of clientele you're gonna have?
CALLER: Yeah, well...
RUSH: Okay, you don't want answer, I caught you. The host caught you. Yeah, yeah, yeah, expert painter knows when he's going to a liberal neighborhood or a conservative neighborhood.
CALLER: You can tell.
RUSH: You can tell. Yep. Whether you got a car on concrete blocks in the front yard or not, I know.
CALLER: Yeah, right, right, especially election time when all the signs get put in the front yard, it's even more of a hoot.
RUSH: Yep.
CALLER: But, hey, the reason why I'm calling, you know, you're the guy that I listen to the most, and you're the guy that I get all my information from. I get why you couldn't endorse someone, but, boy, it sure would be helpful for me and your listeners for you, at the end of the day, say, "Here's the guy," because you're the expert, man. You know who's full of it, and you know who's legitimate, and it would be awesome if you would just, you know, come out and say, this is --
RUSH: Ah, see, wait a minute. You say you understand why I don't endorse. In fact, you said you understand why I can't endorse. And then you very sneakily and slyly try get me to endorse. If I tell you who I'm voting for, that's an endorsement. You're trying to tell me I can do that without actually endorsing anybody. Snerdley, I'm gonna tell you something. 'Cause Snerdley's behind this, folks. If I don't shut this down every call is gonna be somebody demanding or trying to pressure me. Snerdley is sitting in there thinking that I can change the outcome of elections if I would just say so. He really believes that.
You and I both know that's absurd, but he believes it. I'm just telling you, you could give me two more hours of this, I'm not gonna tell you. It isn't going to happen, because when this is all over, I am not gonna be in a position where my credibility is such that I can't support whoever the nominee is. 'Cause I am not voting Obama. I'm not supporting Obama. So whoever wins this, I can't sit here and pigeonhole myself in such a way that I don't have credibility supporting whoever the eventual nominee is, because Obama is the end result. I'll tell you right now, I'm not voting Obama. I'm the expert. And that's really all you need to know.
END TRANSCRIPT
I’ve moved past Rush. His mouth just does not inspire me any more. Old, tired, blowhard. Don’t listen to him any more.
Yeah right. Rush has taken the easy way out with the de facto support of Santorum. He has been trying to ride the fence in this election between the Tea Party Conservatives and the establishment RINOs. I thought he would have more guts than he has shown. Sarah Palin sure is not afraid to say what is on her mind. GO NEWT GO!
Fine, don’t endorse anyone. Just stop acting dumb when it comes to Romney. Go after him. Mark Levin is the only one who’s doing so at this point, and he deserves respect for it.

Ah, but we have another thread where a FReeper is telling us Rush is endorsing Santorum.
He has, repeatedly.
He's too busy talking about how influential he is and selling Ice Tea. His last comment of the day did sound like a back-handed endorsement of Rick.
Rush must be an elitist, Establishment RINO, eh? < s/o >.
At this point (other than ignoring the negatives on Romney) Rush has thrown plenty of bones to the Santorum camp, and the end result of this is an indirect endorsement of Romney. Encouraging Santorum to stay in the race is only hurting Gingrich, and it’s a chief strategy of the RINO establishment.
He may be considered an expert in what I have no idea but he’s not a Patriot. This is a Patriot.
Before being hanged, Nathan Hale said: “I only regret that I have but one life to give for my country.”
Rush won’t even speak for his country unless he knows he’s right. But who needs his endorsement? Don’t people have minds of their own? Can’t they even see the huge difference between Newt and mitt? It really isn’t rocket science that they need another’s input.
Why and who would be drawn to a KNOWN LIAR like Mitt? An initiator of gay marriages? Why do voters have a magnet towards evil.
We even have people here at FR putting words into Rush’s mouth, then slapping it on the TITLE.
I cannot imagine how pissed that would make Rush at FR.
He was clear he’s not endorsing anyone at all, and then some Santorum fan posts, “Rush endorsing Santorum”.
He must be doing angry back-flips.
I can’t believe there are Freepers that stupid and blatant.
Well, I have endorsed Newt.
Sarah Palin sure is not afraid to say what is on her mind.
<><<><><>><<><><><><><><>
She has something in common with Rush. She hasn’t endorsed amyone either.
I finally just turned him off, today. He spent the entire part of the show I heard explaining why he doesn’t endorse. And how much it upsets people and how he doesn’t understand, yada, yada, yada......It was boring.
He’s voting for Santorum today......
That’s what I was going to say
RIDE THAT FENCE RUSH
As we watch the votes being split making it tougher for Newt when we could use the help.
THANKS FOR NOTHING
Limbaugh (David) did endorse Santorum in much the same way that Palin (Todd) endorsed Gingrich....
In the third hour, rush told us that Santorum voters will move to Romney if he drops out, not to Newt.
I say that “Bloody Thursday” Rush is lying, what do you think?
In all my years of voting, no one's endorsement has ever swayed my voting.
I think Rush will be voting for Romney again.
He ended both days of his show by saying that all the candidates had at one time or another supported federal mandates... EXCEPT SANTORUM. Very pointedly for two days. This is how Rush drops his private opinion into his oeuvre.
Ah, but we have another thread where a FReeper is telling us Rush is endorsing Santorum.
Nope, my thread got pulled. Rush did hint that he was voting for Santorum. It’s kind of like an endorsement. But it was legally only my opinion.
I am the stupid and blatant one of which you speak. Don’t worry, my thread got pulled.
(Shhh, don’t tell anyone, promise? Rush has quoted my utter stupidity on FR at least 3 times so far... And read one of my emails to him on the air...)
Exactly, Rush has been playing dumb big time over the past month. It’s like he has no confidence in coming up with any new opinions. Today he spouted his re-hashed idea that Newt labeled the Ryan plan right wing social engineering because Newt was jealous. C’mon Rush; not everyone has an ego as big as yours.
When we look back at this election cycle many here will remember who supported the cause and who gave only halfhearted support or worked against us.
Might vote says; Rush will vote for Newt.
The Palin couple has made it very clear who they support, and have continued to string out this national pro-Newt endorsement campaign for weeks.
Palin is maximizing her pro Newt effect.
Rush took the same position in 08, and we got McCain. Even though I think his fav was Fred Thompson.
Not as forcefully as he could have; he seems intent on fence-sitting. Today he told a caller that he doesn’t believe Romney is pro-abortion, and any claims to that effect are news to him. My jaw dropped. The caller said Romney would never hold his own against Obama in a debate because he gets flustered and sweaty; Rush replied he has never seen that happen.
Sorry, Rush is dropping the ball big-time.
So enjoy your money . . .
Is that old windbag sell on the air
Rush is for Romney, he even told us today that the Perry voters did not go for Newt, and that the Santorum voters will go to Romney instead of Newt.
Rush did that in the third hour on voting day, Rush is anti-Newt.
No way. . .he plays antagonist; but Rush is NOT for Romney; guaranteed! Mitt is the ‘Liberal’ candidate; he is LEFT of center! NO way; does Rush go near, ‘LEFT’ of center. He has banged his drum all week that Romneycare just a few ‘zero’s away from Obamacare’ which he despises.
And what's your opinion? It's as good s mine. And his.
This time I think there is no doubt that he is not supporting Newt, and I think that it is clear that he prefers Mitt over Newt.
The thing that is undeniable, is that Rush could be as clear with Mitt and Gingrich, as he was with McCain and Romney last time.
RUSH: I think now, based on the way the campaign has shaken out, that there probably is a candidate on our side who does embody all three legs of the conservative stool, and thats Romney.
...national radio talk-show host Rush Limbaugh, who endorsed Romney on Tuesday
[February 5, 2008]
Newsmax - Feb 6, 2008
Remember how Rush used to rail against Moderates and Independents because they didn't stand for anything? Remember how Rush used to ask, "What have Moderates ever won?"
There is no passion, no fire in his belly. He sounds spent in my opinion, ever since he got married. I was a daily listener - all three hours. Now? I don't care if I miss part of his show (when he is there) because I am not really missing anything.
Boy, this series of debates has really revealed those in the media as to who they really are. I never thought Rush would turn out to be part of that GOP Establishment crowd.
Dr. Laura used to read my emails on the air, too.
Today's show was pretty much a wash. I had it on in the background all morning, and I was torn between two observations.
On one hand, Rush made it All About Him. Like we really care!
On the other hand, the MSM has made "it" an Awful Lot About Rush (not all, but a lot), describing things he's said about Newt and Romney in ways that Rush disagrees with.
I'm still glad for Rush, though, in pointing out things that need to be pointed out. He's eloquently defended Newt on many charges, and just as eloquently slammed Romney.
On balance, I think Rush was 100 PERCENT CORRECT when he said his endorsement wouldn't sway the election either way, and frankly, although I have often wished he'd just endorse "my guy" over the years, I totally respect and admire Rush's respect for ME and for his audience, in that he doesn't presume to tell us WHO to vote for. Rush screws up a LOT -- I think he's flirted with downright betrayal by not going after Romney with the same gusto he goes after OTHER anti-conservatives -- but his steadfast refusal to presume to tell me who to vote for, goes a long way to redeeming many faults, in my book.
Amen. GODSPEED NEWT GINGRICH.
I thought and felt the same; back in 2008; as did a lot of other people. That was then; this is now; and I prefer to ‘hear’ what Rush says now; not ‘then’. We are living in a time; where instant communication; makes for ‘fast learning’; and updating.
I think he's wrong but I don't think he's lying.
And some Santorum voters will probably move to Romney. I think Newt's marriages are a real issue for some.
correction FWIW - she would read FAXES, not emails.
I love Rush and probably agree with him 95-99% of the time.
That said, I’m firmly convinced the reason he doesn’t endorse is because his ego cannot allow for the possibility that the one he endorses would LOSE.
He didn’t seem to be thinking clearly....stuttering a lot. Or maybe my hearing is worse than I thought.
Rush will back the nominee whenever that person is chosen. If a true conservative, such as Palin, were to run on a third party ticket, Rush would be all over her saying she should drop out to support the GOP candidate. He would never say “Mitt, you need to drop out and give all of your support to Palin.” He liked having SC Justices at his weddings in the past. And he wants one at all of his future weddings.
Well if he spends three hours bashing Romney and tells you how great Newt is and how bad Romney’s ads are then you ought to be able to make a sensible deduction as to who he is for. Rush has become boring and the fun of the show has just not been there lately. I’m about through with Rush, Hannity, Greta. Actually CNN has been more fair lately.
